About this event

Associate Professor Baptiste Sandoz

Institut de Biomécanique Humaine Georges Charpak, Arts et Metiers Institute of Technology, Paris

A/Prof Baptiste Sandoz's formal qualifications include a Master of Science in Medical Robotics and a Master of Science in Biomechanics. Dr Sandoz defended his PhD in 2010 on the biomechanics of the child trunk. His post-doctoral research at the Centre for Automotive Safety Research, The University of Adelaide, focussed on the link between biological and mechanical behaviour of the brain. In 2011, Dr Sandoz commenced as Assistant Professor at the Institut de Biomécanique Humaine Georges Charpak, Arts et Metiers Institute of Technology, in France. Here he specialized in injury biomechanics, with a focus on head and neck traumatic injury mechanisms. With a bridge with cognition and neurosciences, he was promoted to Associate Professor in 2020. Dr Sandoz's research focuses on personalized musculoskeletal modelling of the cervical spine, skull and brain, cervical spine injury risks, brain concussions, head and neck stabilization strategies under controlled dynamic events and virtual reality environments.
