Things are about to get very interesting.
There was a huge group hug and Maxi proclaimed that there would be a feast that night to celebrate. She and Max head to the kitched and began to cook. By the time they were ready to eat the table groaned under the weight of all the food. They sat around the table eating talking and laughing until they were about to burst. When there was not a scrap of food left and all the dishes had been washed they all went upstairs and got into bed. But, peaceful sleep did not befall all of them that night. Max lay awake in her bed thinking. At around midnight Mr. Voice came back to visit her. 'Max, Max! You need to get out of here!'
'Why?'
'A pack of erasers are coming. They have orders to catch you and kill anyone who gets in their way. If they come and your not here they'll just leave and no one will get hurt. You have to go.'
'But the Flock...'
'The Flock will be fine. If they come and your here they will kill them. But, if your not they won't.'
Max got out of bed and pulled a jacket with holes cut out for her wings and a pair of jeans on over her pajamas. She slipped ot the front door and flew off into the night. Max thought about what the voice had said as she flew.
'I'm going back.'
'What?'
'Because of me the Flock is always getting hurt. I'm going back to the School. I'm the one they want right? If I go back they'll leave the Flaock alone.'
'No. I don't think that's a good idea. You might not be the only one they want. By leaving them you may be putting the Flock in more danger.'
'I'm the only one they want. You can't stop me. Fang can take care of the Flock. Just tell him not to come after me.'
'Ok. But I still don't like it.'
With that the voice was gone. Max looked around until she found the Erasers camp. She landed in the woods and walked straight into the clearing.
That was the chapter you wanted. Here's another. Theese 2 should keep you bussy for a while.
As Max walked into te camp, all the erasers jumped up. They didn't know why she was there and they blatantly thought it was to fight. She held up her hands as if she were waiving away an annoying fly.
"Stop, I didn't come here to fight. I came here to talk. Who's in charge of this unit?"
One of the Erasers stepped forward.
"I'll take you to him."
Max followed the Eraser into the middle of the camp. Every time they passed and eraser it would jump up in surprise and Max would have ot explain that she didn't want a fight. When they finally reached the center of the camp the eraser asked Max to wait out side of a very big tent and then stepped through the entrance. A couple minutes later the Eraser came back out with another eraser. The Eraser smiles brodly.
"Maximum Ride. My friend here tells me that you are not here to fight but to simply talk. This surprises me but I will none the less comply to your wishes."
"Please, call me Max. Could we move somewhere a little more private to speak?"
"Of course. Follw me."
He and Max walked out of camp and into the woods. After walking a good while they came to a place where 2 seats had been carved from some old tree stumps.
"This is where I come to meet wiht the more important of Erasers. It is vey private. Only the birds will hear us."
Max nodded and sat down.
"I have come to tell you that i will willingly go back to the School with you on one condition."
"And what would that be?"
"That you leave the Flock alone."
"With pleasure. After all, The one we wanted was you."
When they got back to the camp he introduced me to some of the other erasers. It's surprising how nice they are when your not trying to kill each other. The leader's name turned out to be Chris. She soon made friends with the other erasers. When morning arrived they set out for the School. Max flew over head as the Erasers marched through the forest. The Erasers trusted her not to leave. Why? Well, not even I know why and I'M suposed to be the author. Max looked back towards the house one last time and saw several specks headed her way. She dived knowing that could only mean one thing.
