Presented by The City of Newport, Oregon's Vision 2040 Advisory Committee. The 2020 Awards are made possible by a Community Building Grant from The Ford Family Foundation.

Help our community recognize and reward community-strengthening actions in 2020 that helped forward the six Vision 2040 Focus Areas:

A. Enhancing a Livable Region (Housing, Infrastructure, & Transportation)

B. Preserving & Enjoying our Environment (Environmental Conservation, Sustainability, & Outdoor Recreation)

C. Creating New Businesses & Jobs (Business Support, Economy Diversification and Sustainability)

D. Learning, Exploring, & Creating New Horizons (Education, Job Training, and the Arts)

E. Improving Community Health & Safety (Healthcare, Emergency Services, Food Security, Childcare)

F. Fostering Collaboration & Engagement (Volunteerism, Collaboration, Civic Engagement, Equity & Inclusion)


VOTERS-CHOICE AWARDS:

After the end of the nomination period, the nominees will be announced and awardees will be selected through a public vote. Each voters-choice winner will receive a locally-made award and $250.
THE COMMUNITY NOMINATION PERIOD ENDS AT 5:00 PM, JANUARY 8, 2021.


WHO IS ELIGIBLE:

Businesses, Non-profit/Community Groups, Government Organizations, & Individuals who have made positive impacts in the Greater Newport Area Community in 2020.

The Greater Newport Area is defined as the City of Newport and areas outside the city for which Newport is the hub of employment, services, and other activities, extending to Otter Rock in the north, Seal Rock to the south, and up to Toledo to the east. Recognizing that Newport’s surrounding communities will be partners in a successful future, the project actively sought input from Greater Newport Area residents and visitors in developing the Vision. Entities housed outside this area are eligible for awards if their services impact those within the Greater Newport Area*.

*If your nominee makes their positive impact outside of this region, you may still recognize and award any rural community builder in Oregon or Siskiyou County here: https://ruralcommunitybuilder.org/recognize/ 

PLEASE NOMINATE A BUSINESS, NON-PROFIT, COMMUNITY GROUP, GOVERNMENT ORGANIZATION, OR OUTSTANDING INDIVIDUAL WHO MADE A POSITIVE IMPACT IN THE GREATER NEWPORT AREA IN 2020!
