A 17-year-old worker at a snowboard park was injured when he became entangled in a tow on a beginner hill in northwest suburban Algonquin.

The accident happened Sunday afternoon on a tow known as the Magic Carpet, according to Keith Duck, an owner of the Raging Buffalo Snowboard Ski Park, 19-265 Western Ave.

It took a ski patrol, made up of paramedics and fire officials, at least a hour to free the employee. The worker was then taken to Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, said Duck. His condition was not immediately available.

More than 30 personnel, along with four fire engines, two police squads and two ambulances, responded to the scene, according to a release from the Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District.

The accident was under investigation, Duck said.
