James D. Wilder, age 66, of Dublin, OH, died Tuesday, July 11, 2000, born June 5, 1934 in West Chicago to Joseph David and Margaret Mary White Wilder. Veteran U.S. Navy, served as the Executive Officer on the USS Darby DD-218. Graduated from Holy Cross College NROTC scholarship program in Wooster, MA. He recently retired from North American Heating, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Wholesalers Assoc., where he served as Executive Vice-President from 1970-1999. Prior to that, he was the editor of American Artisan Magazine, Keeney Publishing Co., Chicago. He also served on the Board of Directors of the United Cerebral Palsy Foundation and faithfully participated in Bible study class at Riverside United Methodist Church. In 1997, he received a special award for distinguished service to the Distribution Research and Education Foundation. He was also a past Chairman of the National Association of Wholesalers Executives Council in Washington, D.C. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Lawrence Joseph Wilder and sister, Therese Seigler. James is survived by his sisters, Rose Mary Happel of Winfield, IL, Joan Goddard of San Diego, CA and Patricia (Kenneth) Kruse of Wheaton, IL; many nieces and nephews; and dearest friend Beverly Glasshagel Butcher of Elgin, IL. The family will receive friends 2 to4 p.m. Saturday, July 15, 2000 at Schoedinger Northwest Chapel, 1740 Zollinger Rd., Columbus, OH, where Funeral Service will follow at 4 p.m., Msgr. David K. Funk will officiate. A private interment will be held for the family at a later date in Calvary Cemetery, West Chicago, IL. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Aplastic Anemia and MDS Internationl Foundation, Inc. PO Box 587, Annapolis, MD 21404-0613 or to a charity of your choice in his memory.
