1. ‘Dance War: Bruno vs. Carrie Ann’

So you think you can dance; can you sing too? In this new competition series, “Dancing With the Stars” judges Bruno Tonioli and Carrie Ann Inaba (above) guide two teams of amateur singers and dancers in a variety of ambitious routines. Then viewers cast their votes, and either Tonioli or Inaba — depending on whose team got fewer votes — has to decide who goes home. The winner gets to open for a major artist on tour. Drew Lachey hosts.

2. ‘Antiques Roadshow’

8 p.m., WTTW-Ch. 11

Did Santa bring you a high-def TV for Christmas? If so, you’re just in time for the 12th season of this popular series devoted to finding the treasures among ordinary folks’ trash. In the premiere, the appraisers are in Baltimore, where they examine a 200-year-old watch, a pin given by Mark Twain to a protegee and a collection of American Indian artifacts. Mark L. Walberg hosts.

3. ‘Medium’

9 p.m., WMAQ-Ch. 5

Allison Dubois and Morticia Addams — there’s a winning combination. The new season begins with a six-episode arc featuring Anjelica Huston as a private investigator with whom Allison (Patricia Arquette, above), whose psychic abilities are now public knowledge, strikes up a business relationship. Miguel Sandoval and Jake Weber also star.

4. ‘October Road’

9 p.m., WLS-Ch. 7

It’s not just Nick’s (Bryan Greenberg) novel that’s coming back to haunt him. In high school, he wrote a comic book making fun of a classmate. Now he and Eddie (Geoff Stults, right) are bidding on a job, and guess who makes the decision about who gets it. Hannah and Janet’s (Laura Prepon, Rebecca Field) plans for a double date face opposition from their significant others.
