CHICAGO RIDGE

A tenant was charged with theft after he recently removed $300 worth of plants and shrubs from the grounds of the apartment building where he lives in the 10400 block of South Natoma Avenue in Chicago Ridge, police said.

George G. Libretti, 46, was arrested after several witnesses told police they saw Libretti dig up all of the newly planted vegetation about an hour after the landlord finished planting the shrubbery around the perimeter of the building, police said.
