Let ‘Em Burn
The departure of three of the four group members (Juvenile, B.G. and Young Turk left, while Lil’ Wayne remains) from Cash Money Records over the last few years didn’t keep the label from creatively cobbling together material recorded before the mass exodus for this solid album. The tag-team rapping approach creates exciting results, especially on the hard-hitting “Down Here,” the menacing “Off Wit Ya Head” and the percolating “Young Riders.” Producer Manie Fresh alternates the delivery of another round of bouncy, soulful or intense beats that are as addictive as they are memorable. The group’s chemistry begs for a reunion.
