Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban is scheduled to arrive in town Monday and plans to attend Monday’s Cubs game.

Don’t hold your breath: He’s not going to the game as the team’s new owner just yet. Cuban told me in an e-mail he “can’t and won’t” say anything about buying the Cubs. (So if you see him at Wrigley, don’t ask!)

However, he is more than willing to talk all about his new gig on ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars.” Cuban told me he has been training three hours a day for the hit show.

“I will be a lean, mean dancing machine out there!” he said.

Cuban admitted it has been difficult — and different than “shaking it” at a bar or a wedding. However, the maverick billionaire said the ballroom setting won’t stop him from busting out some less-than-formal moves. Cuban said he has put his own stamp on the routines, with moves such as “the lawn mower,” “the butter churn” and “the sprinkler.”

Before Cuban jets back to L.A. for more rehearsing, he plans to meet with “DWTS” veteran Jerry Springer for advice. Sounds like he’s in good hands.

When Vegas and O.J. collide

O.J. Simpson crossed paths with some Chicagoans who were vacationing in Las Vegas on the date police say Simpson was involved in an armed robbery. Locals Justin Terzo, Ari Strauss and Gordy Sang met up with friends from college at Ghostbar at the Palms hotel and casino Thursday. They spotted Simpson at the hot spot with a bodyguard and took photos with him and shook his hand.

Simpson “was bouncing around the whole room meeting and talking to different people,” Sang told me. “He was in a very good mood.”

The next day, when Sang and his friends watched the news about Simpson’s alleged crime, they said they were shocked.

Sang and his crew ran into Simpson again in Vegas in the early hours Sunday at Moon nightclub. Simpson again was mingling with people and took photos with a bachelorette party at one point.
