White Collar

9 p.m. Friday, USA

!!!

Matthew Bomer is one of those actors who seems to have everything — but a hit.

“White Collar” likely will remedy that problem for the good-looking and skilled actor who, as slick spy Bryce Larkin, charmed fans of “Chuck.” In the dryly humorous new USA series, Bomer plays genius criminal Neal Caffrey, who breaks out of prison just three months shy of his release when his girlfriend dumps him. He’s quickly caught by Peter Stokes (Tim DeKay), the same FBI agent who put him in jail, and they become unlikely partners in the pursuit of an elusive art forger known as the Dutchman.

Yes, you’ve seen this kind of bickering buddy story a hundred times before — on other USA shows for instance — but that doesn’t make “White Collar” any less enjoyable. DeKay and Bomer have great chemistry as they tease and taunt each other. The story moves quickly and keeps the chuckles flowing.

And Bomer, well, he’s just a charismatic as ever.

My Super Psycho Sweet 16

!!

9 p.m. Friday, MTV

The not-music network turns its reality series about spoiled teens into a slasher flick that delivers pools of blood, tons of screams and a lot of unintended laughter. The flick starts with the bloody murders of roller-skating teens at the Roller Dome. Flash-forward several years to the Sweet 16 party of bitchy queen bee Madison Penrose (Juliana Guill), who gets a surprise present from the Lord of Rink. Yeah, you know where this is going.
