Sanjay Dutt, one of Bollywood’s top stars, arrived Tuesday for a high-drama courtroom scene in Mumbai to hear the verdict in his case: guilty of illegally possessing weapons, allegedly bought from gangsters accused of orchestrating terrorist bombings that killed 257 people in 1993.

Dutt, 47, was acquitted of the more serious charges of involvement in the terrorist conspiracy itself. He faces up to 10 years in prison.

“I have not found that he was a terrorist or was destructive,” Judge Pramod Kode said.

Dutt made no comment after the hearing, but his lawyer said it was a vindication.
