Zimbabwe faces a crisis of starvation and economic and political meltdown.

I cannot understand why President Robert Mugabe can allow the plundering of the white-owned farms. Although the white farmers are only 1 percent of the population, the output from the farms is crucial to both feeding the country and the national economy.

What Mugabe is doing by handing over these farms to his people who fought in the war for independence is destroying his country.

These farms are being taken over by vicious mobs, most of whom never played any part in the war and none of whom have any knowledge of basic farming techniques.

Mugabe is a dictator first and foremost and action needs to be taken by the international community to put a stop to this immediately.
