There will be some serious energy in the West Loop on Tuesday morning.

“Sweatin’ to the Oldies” sultan Richard Simmons plans on jazzing things up at Union Station from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.

Simmons, now 60 but probably feeling about 19, will appear (in short shorts and tank top, we hope) in the train station’s Grand Hall, where he’ll lead Chicagoans through an exercise routine.

We’re sure Simmons has plenty to keep him busy while in town, but that didn’t stop RedEye from making a few suggestions. RedEye

– Record announcements for the moving walkways at Midway and O’Hare: “The walkway’s ending, honey! Pick up those puppies and get moving!”

– Buy new shorts somewhere on the Mag Mile.

– Talk to Charlie Trotter about a new venture: Charlie’s Deal-A-Meal Cafe and Lounge.

– Sweat to the oldies with the Luvabulls.

And some suggestions from @redeyechicago’s

– Dress all the famous statues in his signature shorts (@chamilton4853)

– Try our famous polish sausage. And our stuffed pizza. That’ll keep the aerobics career going. (@BilGaines)

– He could get his fro straightened (@Luvvielg)

– 3 words, Mayor Daley Jazzercise! (@moppenheimer)
