An 18-year-old man was ordered held on $75,000 bail on Monday after being charged along with seven other teenagers with a weekend attack that left a Michigan man with a broken jaw.

Mitchell Coradarrowe, of the 5900 block of South Indiana Avenue, is charged as an adult with felony aggravated battery and mob action, according to police.

Coradarrowe was with a group of teens who beat the 44-year-old man in the 500 block of North State Street just before 10 p.m. Saturday. The victim, who was in Chicago on business, according to a relative, was treated for a broken jaw at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

During a court hearing, prosecutors said the victim saw the large group of teens and tried to avoid them.

“The next thing he knows he’s awakening, being tended to by a doctor and his wife who just happened to be in the area,” said Assistant Cook County State’s Attorney Erin Antonietti.

Witnesses identified Coradarrowe as one of the people who “struck him and stomped on him,” Antonietti said.

The man suffered a broken jaw that may require surgery, she said.

The two people who came to the victim’s assistance were also struck by members of the group, said Antonietti.

The juveniles, ranging in age from 13 to 16, have each been charged with three counts of mob action in connection with the attack.
