Years ago the neighbors left their kids at home with a 13-15 year old girl. I don't remember all of the ages, but there were 3 kids, 2 younger girls in the 4-8 year old zone and the 10 year old boy.

I have no idea what occurred, but suddenly there was screaming coming from the house, and then the babysitter ran out the front door, followed closely by the boy armed with a claw hammer. After a short run down the block and back, the girl got into the house and slammed the door shut behind her. She obviously locked the door, because the boy started beating on it with the hammer screaming "Come back out or I'll kill you!". The babysitter must have ran out the back door, cause I saw her jump the fence and run away from the house, while the boy stood screaming and pounding at the front door.

We called the cops, and told them what had just happened, and they arrived about 45 minutes later. Although they asked my wife and I for a statement as far as I know there were no real consequences to the boy's actions. His parents arrived about 10 minutes after all of the excitement to let the boy back into the house (he never did go around back to see if that door was open) and the cops just left without taking him with them. And as far as I know he never went to any juvenile court or anything. But as we did not know the babysitter, and the family never talked to any of the neighbors including us, I never did find out what happened.

I always thought that pounding on a door while threatening to kill someone was not the best way to convince them to come out and meet with you.
