Quick change! Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas step out in colourful outfits for dinner in New York having been seen in casual sweaters hours before

Just hours before they were seen in baggy sports sweaters, trudging casually through the streets of the East Village.

But it was time for a quick turnaround outfit change for celeb couple Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner as they re-emerged early evening looking much more presentable.

Seeming to be slightly co-ordinated, both in white and blue outfits with splashes of colour, the duo strolled along, ready for their meal out.

Sophie, 21, wore a white T-shirt, with a pink design on the front, covered from the Spring chill with a light denim jacket.

She showcased her lithe frame in a pair of baggy drawstring trousers in cream and white trainers.

Hands in pockets, she wore her blonde mane loosely around her shoulders and had freshened up her make-up, sporting a clean look.

Her Jonas bother boyfriend, 27, wore a red and cream sports jacket, with a bird emblem on it over a white T, skinny bruise-coloured jeans, white trainers and glasses.

The pair had been out earlier, grabbing ice-cream from a local vendor, appearing to be in high spirits as they strolled through the picturesque Greenwich Village neighbourhood.

Taking the weight off their feet, the pair later took a seat on a nearby bench, where Sophie dutifully wiped Joe’s face as a live band played close by.

The couple were seen together throughout late 2016 but did not appear to make it official until January of this year.

Sophie posted a photo of Joe on her Instagram on January 1, appearing to confirm the relationship.

The pair have been inseparable ever since, and by the looks of their happy Monday stroll, things could be getting serious.

Meanwhile Sophie has strenuously denied using a racial slur after smartphone footage purportedly capturing the actress greeting friends with the N-word surfaced on social media.

The Game of Thrones star spoke out after a bogus account dedicated to updates of her hugely popular show shared the brief clip across micro-blogging site Twitter on Tuesday morning – sparking furious debate among followers over whether she used the offensive word.

Filmed inside a fitness studio, the brief clip finds Sophie, Joe and a male friend – thought to be a personal trainer – addressing the camera, with the British actress playfully announcing: ‘What’s up, motherf*****s?’

However a caption accompanying the poor quality clip, originally shared as an innocent Instagram story before being reposted, misinterprets her remark by incorrectly stating that she used a racial slur.

‘Sophie turner says the n word casually and laughs about it and this marks the end of this updates account (sic),’ it read.

The star has since moved to deny the claim, telling MailOnline: 'I used the word ‘motherf***ers’ in a recent video posted in an Instagram story and not a hateful racial slur that has been suggested.

'I am incredibly upset that anyone would think otherwise, and I want to make it clear that I would never use such an abhorrent word.'

The clip polarized opinion among fans following its emergence on Tuesday, with some adamant that she had used the slur, while others insisted she was innocent of any wrongdoing.

Taking to Twitter, one incensed follower wrote: 'Shameful! I thought she'd be better than this! Hope she'll not get anymore roles since this is a bad example to the children!'

Another added: 'sophie turner saying the n word so casually and joe jonas laughing about it really says something.'

Seemingly in agreement, a third commented: 'sophie turner, a Caucasian, said the n word in a video while joe jonas, another Caucasian, laughed about it?'

'I thought Joe Jonas would be above dating such a nasty person!...can't imagine his grandpa (he's black) would be proud of this,' carped another disappointed follower.

However many correctly claimed they had misheard the throwaway comment, with one writing: 'She said motha****aaa if you listen and joe didn't laugh it was the guy holding the camera (sic).'
