These small and midsized models can save you money at the pump without sacrificing utility
Fuel economy is a perennial concern for car buyers, with record fuel prices being a recent, painful memory. But Consumer Reports’ tests show that you don’t have to sacrifice fuel economy to get the space and all-weather traction you want. In fact, many SUVs now have fuel economy on a par with large cars.
Among the more than 50 vehicle tests are fuel-economy measurements. The numbers are derived from a precision flow meter and are rounded to the nearest mile per gallon.
