Indie developer PSCD Games is working on an action title for the Sega Genesis / Mega Drive called Cyber Mission, and it's looking very promising indeed.
A side-scrolling shmup in which you control a flying solder, it reminds us a little of Capcom's Forgotten Worlds, which is certainly no bad thing at all.
PSCD has stated that it will be opening a Kickstarter campaign to cover the development costs of the title.
The company is also responsible for titles such as Black Jewel Reborn and Hunter Girls, the latter of which saw its crowdfunding campaign get cancelled recently. Instead, copies are being sold directly from the PSCD website.

No offense to a bunch of modern indie/homebrew developers, given it's usually just a couple of guys in a room doing their best, but boy do many of these modern indie/homebrew games make me realise just how truly brilliant the designers and artists were at the likes of Capcom, Konami, Treasure, Sega and Nintendo back on the day. Pixel art rarely reaches the same level anymore imo, and we're like 30+ years in the future with everything learned in that time and far more advanced and easy to use tools and such. Maybe those Japanese designers and artists were just on another level, possibly a lot of the fundamentals they comprehensively mastered have been forgotten/lost to most modern pixel artists, and we mostly haven't seen their likes since.
Edit: The new title screen does look cool though.
The music is super catchy.
Sorry, but just like hunter girls this looks terribly unimpressive.
Has potential for sure, but it ain't like the mighty Earthion coming Megadrive.
So is this essentially Cyber Lip for the Genesis?
