Guns N' Roses' paradise is no city

No band comes closer to representing the epitome of urban metal than L.A. hotshots Guns N' Roses. And while none of them are natives of Los Angeles, they all seem to embrace the Hollywood party ethic a bit too enthusiastically. But, as guitarist Izzy StradIln admits, sometimes it can get boring.

"Living in this city tends to be a bit claustrophobic," explains the transplanted Midwesterner. "Now, when I think back on it, Lafayette. Indiana had some great things about it. You could disappear into the woods for two or three days. and nobody'd miss you. I used to love doing that... setting up a tent and camping out in the woods."

Does Izzy intend to trade in his city-dweller status to return to his roots any time in the near future?

"Nah," he says emphatically. "But living in L.A. is too much of a mind-fuck. After this tour, hopefully I'll have enough [money) to move out at least as fat as the city line."
