KUALA LUMPUR: Bukit Aman is tracking down more than two people in connection with the Israeli man's case, says Tan Sri Razarudin Husain.

The Inspector-General of Police said police believed these people could shed some light into the probe.

"We need them to assist in the investigations," he told a press conference at the Federal police headquarters here on Tuesday (April 2).

Razarudin said the 38-year-old suspect, who was nabbed in possession of six guns and 200 bullets last week, has been remanded until April 7.

The three Malaysians, including a married couple aged 40 and 42, arrested in connection with the case have been remanded until April 5, he added.

"We have recorded the statements of 23 people," he revealed.

The IGP also confirmed that the firearms sold to the man by the couple were smuggled from Thailand.

On March 27, police arrested an Israeli man at a hotel in Jalan Ampang here.

It was reported that during interrogations, the suspect claimed that he came to Malaysia to assassinate a fellow Israeli over a family dispute.
