Book Discussion 

The book discussion will be in person in the basement meeting room at 5:30pm on Tuesday May 14. We'll be discussing Leaving Time by Jodi Picoult.

I’d Rather Read YA

Spice of the Month Take&Make

YHPL has an ongoing take & make for spice of the month; patrons can pick up a small sample of a spice and a pamphlet with recipes and history. The spice for May will be parsley. First come first serve, while supplies last.

Adult Take&Make: Yarn Macramé Plant Holders

Take home a kit to make your own yarn macramé plant holders. Available on a first come, first serve basis while supplies last. This craft is suitable for teens and adults. Available starting May 1.  
Children's Take&Make: Craft-foam Butterflies

Each kit will include all supplies and instructions. Suitable for ages 4 - 8; younger children can complete with adult help. Kits will be available beginning May 1, while supplies last.

Board Game Night

Board Game Night is back at YHPL. Join us every Thursday from 4 - 7 pm to play some games! We have a large board game library to choose from or bring one of your own. Beginners and experienced gamers welcome. 
Veggie Plant Giveaway 

YHPL invites you to visit the library and pick up a small vegetable plant to grow at home! Wednesday May 22, 5:00pm to 7:00pm.  
 
YHPL’s Anime Club
 
Join us on Tuesdays, May 14 and 21 at 4:00pm for YHPL’s Anime Club. Regulars show up to chat at 4:00pm, then at 4:35 we will watch episodes of Buddie Daddies.





 
Chess Club
 
Join us Saturday, May 4 from 11:00am to 2:00pm for YHPL’s chess club. Practice, play and learn chess with others. All skill levels welcome. All ages (12 and under must be accompanied by an adult or guardian).


 

 

YHPL Silent Book Club 
 
Every Friday morning, 9:30-10:30am, bring your own book or grab one of ours. Grab a free cup of coffee or tea, then join our silent society meeting in the "sun room".  At 10:30 we will break silence, discuss books, chat, or just go home quietly.
Teen Take&Make: Pollinator Garden

Take home supplies to make your own pollinator garden. Available at the circulation desk through the end of May or while supplies last.

Spring Storytime 

Join us Tuesdays through May 21 at 10am for spring storytimes.Suitable for ages 3 to 5 and their caregivers. No registration needed. 

Join us Tuesdays May 28 through June 24 at 10am for coloring, puzzles, blocks, and free play! Suitable for ages 2.5 and older, and their caregivers. No registration needed.

Book Sale 

The Friends of YHPL are hosting a book sale May 18 from 10am-12:30pm. No appointment necessary. We hope to see you there!
Hoopla Classics: Gem or Junk? You Decide 

Patrons watch Cry Wilderness on their own on Hoopla. Conversation will happen via video chat Tuesday May 7 at 5:30pm on Discord. Dark Tower Book Club

YHPL has an ongoing book club based on Stephen King’s The Dark Tower. Join us on Tuesday May 28 at 5:30pm in the basement meeting room to discuss The Dark Tower. Please visit www.yhpl.org/dark-tower for future dates and titles, and our spoiler policy.
YHPL Puzzle Swap

 
Are you wondering what to do with the jigsaw puzzles you’ve completed? Come on in On Saturday May 4 from 10:00am to 1:00pm and Swap them! Bring in your puzzles in good condition (with all the pieces, please) to exchange with others! If you don’t have a puzzle to swap come in anyway, we will have extras!

 
Teen Jean Recycling

Join us Saturday May 18, 12 - 1:30pm to turn old jeans into new items. We will create chokers, bracelets, pencil holders and/or pouches, depending on participants' interests. If you have an old pair of jeans you don't mind cutting up, please bring them. (We will have jeans/denim here for use as well.) Open to anyone ages 11 to 18. Registration required. Call the library for more information or to register.
