Kasasagi Dojo

About our FC:

Kasasagi Dojo is a progressive, story-driven 18+ roleplaying FC on the Balmung Server of FFXIV. Our FC is centered around Othard RP, plausible lore and story, with a heavy focus on the Shinobi/Samurai culture. The FC will be an Othardian haven focused on revolting against the Garlean Empire, reclaiming Othard, preserving their culture, and hunting void corruptions, while welcoming those who wish to join the cause.

To the public eye, it will be a Traditional Dojo and Shrine. (This will grow to include other concepts once Othard and its lore is made available.)

The shrine will provide a place of respite, Doman food, storytelling, lessons in Othardian teachings, as well as traditional geisha and ritual performances.

The Dojo will be used for in-character training in martial combat, public displays of martial prowess, as well as weekly in-character tournaments that will have quarterly championships of previous victors. The FC will be a place for Shinobi/Samurai who are away from their clans, and masters to find work in Aldenard fit for their skills. This could range from hunting voidal corruption to more behind-closed-doors type of tasks.

Behind Closed Doors: Some tasks require discretion.  Everything from information gathering, assassinations, acquisitions, security, infiltration, and more. While this provides work for our people, their focus will be building knowledge of the Empire. Aldenard has become the training grounds as we prepare to reclaim Othard and destroy the Empire in doing so. (There may also be an underground gambling ring set up for the Dojo’s tournaments. Perhaps more RPC functions to be added in the future.)

Though there may be tasks and/or jobs that are not necessarily “legal,“ Kasasagi Dojo is not affiliated with any syndicate, and it is not inherently considered to be a criminal organization.

Non-Othardians: Others who seek refuge and work are also welcome to the FC. Healers, storytellers, teachers, academics - there is a place for them as well!

Current Housing: The dojo is current in the Goblet Ward 5 main apartments, apartment 90. We are hoping to obtain FC housing in the near feature.

What we value as an FC:

Respect, Communication, Consideration, and Fun are our core values. We expect a very harsh division between OOC and IC. We will not stand for drama or disrespect of others in any platform, of any degree. Also due to the genre of RP we focus on, we expect that our OOC Rules of Engagement, will be followed by our members, so that everyone who roleplays with us, will have a fun time and fulfilled story.

It is our hope that we will provide a safe place for those who enjoy writing a good story through RP while allowing for creativity and expression. We also strive to become part of the ever-growing roleplay community, by contributing to stories with other FCs, providing interactive public events, and being walk-up friendly. We are also more than happy to provide players and other FCs with conflict or resolution RP story arcs.

We as an FC also value and respect the player behind the pixels. As adults, we have real life responsibilities and obligations. It is important that anyone looking to join our FC understand that while we are providing a place to RP and story arcs, we expect our members to engage in their own RP stories and encourage them to share their stories with one another. The FC is meant to be a backbone to your character’s story, not consume it.

Let’s write something epic together!

For those who are already in an FC but still want to be apart of the fun! Contact us to be added to our ooc Linkshell! IC linkshell access is opened through RP :D

Rules of Engagement

Following RP storylines are great and staying in character is great as well. However, when it comes to criminal/combat RP that involves other people, or you want to be engaged with <ZN-RP> roleplayers, there are rules on how to approach it. These rules are made to ensure that everyone has a fun and enjoyable time OOC while remaining true to their characters IC.

1) OOC Communication: This cannot be stressed enough. You -must- be open to OOC whispers for clarifications/criticism of the RP so that it is enjoyable for -everyone- involved.  Always, always whisper the RPer for clarification, their wishes, what you would like to see happen, etc. We are here to write stories -with- you.

2) OOC Permissions: Keep a list of those involved in the RP so the rest of us know we can coordinate with them for future RP. Ask if they wish to be added to the white/orange list.

OOC Permissions of Engagement:

Before engaging a scene you -MUST- whisper those involved in the scene and get permission to include your character. Make sure that all people involved with the RP accept your RP and have agreed to what will (or has happened)  to their character. If the answer is NO, you must respect that. You have the option of ignoring the RP scene altogether.

Make sure they have no OOC triggers that you should avoid. Be vocal of ANY triggers -YOU- as a player may have. Players are supposed to ask you, however sometimes people forget, so if they don’t ask, tell them.

OOC Permissions of Information:

For information broking/gathering: You -MUST- tell the roleplayers you are listening to that you are listening IC and get permission to use what your character is hearing IC. This not only protects against potential meta, but also that not all people RP in a party for their ‘secret meetings’.

Warrants/ bounties on characters are to be OOC told to the RPer. They do -not- need to know who is coming for them or anything that could take away from the RP experience; they do, however, need to know what information is being used IC as well as if their character is being hunted.

3) OOC/ IC Separation:

You -MUST- keep in mind the clear divide between OOC and IC. We of <ZN-RP> are not our characters and vice versa. Nothing done in RP is personal on an OOC level and we of <ZN-RP> expect you to enjoy yourself. If you are not, then please, please be vocal so that we can adjust.

Any complaints or concerns MUST be voiced to the <ZN-RP> player you are RPing with -BEFORE- you whisper one of our officers (even if it -is- one of our officers). We pride ourselves on being considerate and accepting of all people/RP, so if you do not communicate the issue, we will not reprimand one of our own who was oblivious.

4) Combat:

As always get OOC Permission before engaging. Also, OOCly communicate what type of combat RP the others involved would like to use. (RP emote, Grindstone Roll rules, etc.) It is understood that during combat, all emotes are considered an attempt even if the word ‘attempt’ is not used. The understanding is that any correction, to detail or outcome, will be added to the next emote.

All city combat is to be ICly and OOCly moved outside of cities as to not interfere with other people’s enjoyment of their own RP. Respect the lore that there -are- guards in cities and respect any RPer who is RPing as one. (Exceptions can be OOCly agreed on. Eg. Pearl Lane.)

Keep in mind that we are here to progress our own characters as well as those around us. Sometimes losing is a more effective way to bring this about.

5) Engagement Outcomes:

Let the other RPer know what you would like to happen and not happen to your character. What you would like to see happen in the scene as well as long term story. You -must- respect the wishes of the RPer as to if they wish to be caught or not. If they do not wish to be caught then you are to provide a realistic escape within your character story limits. Please keep in mind that if your character is a repeat offender at some point they will be caught so -always- escaping is not realistic.

Also, note that you do -not- need to have your character killed. There are other routes to go and suggestions are welcomed.

6) Be prepared to provide a TLDR (too long, didn’t read) or ask for one. Some RPers are quite talented in the written word, it is the style they enjoy, however it is NOT meant to be difficult for you.  Always be willing to give the gist, or ask for it if you need it.

7) White/Orange List:

Always remain respectful and considerate to those around you and respect the White/Red list.

The white list is a list of those, either individuals or FCs, who have agreed to be a part of ongoing and future RP with those of <ZN-RP>. These types of roleplays can include the underworld/ gladiator/syndicate RP, the adventure/divine quest/Void vs Light, or combat RP. This allows us to know who would want to be included or who we have permission to engage without constantly having to ask. You -can- ask to be whitelisted for certain characters of <ZN-RP>, while red listing others.

The Orange list is for those, either individual or FC who do not wish to recognize or be a part of <ZN-RP> roleplay. Those on the orange list will be respected from those of <ZN-RP> -not- to engage in any fashion with you.  Again you can orange list a certain character if you like. However know that by doing so, the white listed character has the OOC right to not engage the RP due to OOC or IC restrictions based on the said orange listed character.
