    ARR and Dungeons/Istances timers.

    Hi guys! If i remember well, Yoshi P. confirmed in an interview that every timers (both timer in dungeon and re-enter time) in ARR will be abolished right?

    Can anyone help me to find that interview? Or at least confirm what i'm saying?
    I cannot say why i'm asking for this.. But i have a *bad feeling incoming* ...

    The simply question is: (aside of party balance blaa blaa etc.)

    Why they keep them? Wich is the reason if speedruns are gone?
    Even ARR server can't handle many and many istance?
    Every game don't have timers, then why they keep them? Wich is the utility of timers??
    Why i can't go afk in the istance if i need?

    Timers are an old FFXI thing, they were ok 10 years ago Cuz, time was THE FFXI "difficulty".
    FFXI couldn't handle skill based fight, so almost every type of content had timers (dyna, assault, salvage, limbus, nyzul, einjar ecc ecc)!

    Time shouldn't be THE difficulty in 2012 err 2013! It's simply a step back...
    I want difficulty based on skill based combat.

    Fact is that almost no other mmorpg has timers, except FFXI-FFXIV!
    Why ANY other SH, big or small, don't implement them if they're so convenient, fun and let you save resources at the same time? Because no one wants them! Simply, players don't want them.

    Even if i stop saying wich are advantages without timers (imho of course), you have to remember that Final Fantasy XIV actual player base is nothing compared to what they want to allure in with ARR. And a lot of new players (even old) coming from other games will be disappointed again, cuz they're used to MMO standards! And no timers it's a standard like it was UI, or Jump, quest system, PvP, ecc. All things getting implented! (Concidence?)

    I'm talking with my friends on TS and EVERYONE it's blaming me for timers, except one that still plays FFXI (coincidence again?) .

    So even if i leave my interest away, i'm still worried for the game success, and dungeon timers, are a wrong piece of the puzzle. (I hope you got my concept, even if my english sux badly).

    Like this post if you don't want timers in A Realm Reborn!

    I don't remember reading anything saying that dungeons will no longer have a timer. I do remember reading a dev post saying they're looking into removing the wait time for re-entry into dungeons. They've also said they're getting rid of speed runs. (which also ties into timers)

    Are you sure? They where just talking about the re entry time :/ ? I was pretty sure that dungeon timers will be removed too.. I need to find that interview >_>

    He said that speed runs in dungeons will be removed but that doesn't mean there can't still be a timer running on the dungeon, even if it counts up rather than down.

    So the 1h timer that i saw in "some screens".....

    Well i was hoping in no timers at all in istances for ARR.. I really don't understand why they keep them... They taken every standard from others mmo, and they didn't get the rid of timers...

    Why i want them removed do you ask?
    Example: I have a static PT of old friend,
    one of them plays from his Shop. Sometimes customers enter and he have to go afk many minutes.

    So let's suppose we're close to the final boss with low time left, this isn't a good think.

    Or even if i simply have to go to dinner.. These are just some examples...

    No other mmorpg that i know have timers, why XIV have them :/ ?

    Not entirely sure why I'm happy with hearing about the removal of speed run conditions.
    I guess because it could offer more strategy/job variety in pick-up-groups



    I hope they keep the re-entry timers and time limits.
    I couldn't find any news on either subject though.
    Guess we'll wait and see.

    I'm not saying they won't be removed, in fact I hope they are due to it being a factor for training past trash mobs (why have them in the first place if you can just run past them?), just saying they haven't said either way yet whether they will be gone or not. The trailer we got for the dungeon showcasing the limit breaks had the UI hidden, so we don't know yet if they're present in ARR or not.

    Yeah the trailer had hidden UI... At least the trailer ...

    I am glad speed runs will be gone...it will be so nice to actually enjoy the dungeon instead of rush through it.

    As for the timer I think Yoshida said something about some dungeons will take a loonnng time....but not sure about the timers disappearing altogether. Hmm..its in one of the interviews!
