Educator Support for Immigrant and Refugee Students "Train the Trainers" 01/11/2018 8:30 am - 3:30 pm
In response to the voices of teachers concerned about the stress and tensions their students have expressed about their family members' immigration status, Californians Together is offering a one-day trainer of trainers workshop.
The training includes:
Grade-Span (K-2, 3-5, 6-12) classroom lesson modules addressing the social emotion and education needs of students worried about immigration status of their family members
Interactive student-teacher scenarios
Educator Toolkit, including resources to create welcoming classrooms and schools, and other legal and educational resources.
Up-to-date legal advice
Lunch and materials
In addition to the workshop materials provided, the following book titles used for the training , "From North to South- Del Norte al Sur"and "Mama's Nightingale: A Story of Immigration and Separation", will be available to purchase at $30. (Checks made out to Californians Together or purchase orders)
