Employee Service Recognition Event Moves to Fall

The annual luncheons honor staff who’ve worked at Tufts a decade or more

The Employee Recognition Awards luncheons, typically held each spring to honor staff for their years of service to Tufts, will now be held in the fall, said Julien Carter, the university’s vice president of human resources. The 2017 events will take place in either October or November.

“The spring has proved to be an increasingly busy time of year for Tufts events,” Carter said. “These are special celebrations where President Monaco enjoys the chance to thank loyal staff who have built careers at the university. A fall event date allows us to heighten their meaning, attract strong attendance and roll out some program enhancements, such as performances by student singing groups.”

Each year more than 300 staff are invited to the luncheons on the Medford/Somerville campus. Staff are honored for their tenth anniversary and every five years after that. Some of the longest-serving employees have worked at Tufts for 40-plus years.

Employees who are celebrating a milestone this year will receive save-the-date reminders in the summer. For more information, contact Jacqueline Foster, executive assistant to Carter.
