The Covenant Car Company Inc. (TCCI), the exclusive distributor of Chevrolet as well as MG in the Philippines has announced that it will not be increasing the pricing of its vehicles until May 15, 2021. The move was done to ensure the interested buyers can get their hands on an MG vehicle without worrying about paying additional fees related to safeguard duties. TCCI has also chosen not to pass on these additional tariffs to its customers and has instead chosen to absorb the cost for the time being. This means that until May 15, MG vehicles such as the MG ZS crossover, the MG 6 fastback sedan, the MG RX5 SUV, and the MG 5 sedan will all retain their standard retail pricing.
It is important to note that this offer is being carried out at all of the brand’s 37 dealerships nationwide, making its vehicle lineup all the more attractive to buyers.
We are happy to share that TCCCI will continue to support the motoring needs of the market by not collecting an additional fee to cover the Safeguard Measure Bond as issued by the DTI. We would like to continue providing our clients with affordable offers by retaining the current standard retail prices on all MG models and variants until May 15, 2021.
He continues by stating “As the local economy and industry continue to recover and strengthen, MG Philippines remains committed to giving Filipinos access to well designed, safe, attainable and, and modern mobility solutions.”
What will happen after the May 15, 2021 deadline is still unknown, as there are no further details released by MG Philippines on the matter. However, we suspect that there will be a few price adjustments to the brand’s vehicle lineup that will happen in the future.
