An ideal event for your first ever fell/hill race. Fully marked with no chance of getting lost.... if you follow the arrows.
Plenty of ups and downs and off-road terrain. Very grippy (or fell running) shoes required.
We had a slight course change last year which will stay again for this year - in order to maintain the good reputation of the event and the good will of residents moving forward.
Chips and sausages (included in entry fee) at Mayhill Hotel after where we will have the prize presentation. 10 years age categories - 1st - Jun, Sen, V40, V50... V70. Male and Female.
Park at Monmouth Prep School - NP25 3NG. Registration in foyer of school.
Please park in the school car park (as per HQ address) and not on Hadnock Rd or at the pub. PLEASE NOTE that the car park will be locked at 4:30pm so do not linger too long after your race or you'll not have access to your car until the next day!
Fell type shoes are generally needed for this route - the steep descent down a field in the first third can be very slippery.
On the day, collect your chip/number from the race HQ inside the foyer of the school sports centre. There are toilets here too.
The start is a 10 min walk from the HQ.
The finish and start are in the same place.
Results and prizes will be based on chip to chip time -so no need to push to the front of the restricted start - and note that 1st past the finish line may not be the winner.
