As Part of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) efforts to protect U.S. economic competitiveness, CBP is transforming trade processing to find efficiencies for both CBP and the Trade community. CBP utilizes various trade metrics to ensure that these efforts are creating the highest value for the Trade community. One of these methods of evaluation is spearheaded by the Advisory Committee on the Commercial Operations of Customs and Border Protection (COAC) with its annual Trade Efficiency survey. This benchmarking survey measures how effective CBP’s trade facilitation efforts are at lowering the cost and burden of doing business for the Trade. As a result of the highly successful 2012 survey, CBP was able to proceed with the following achievements:

• Establish a working group to analyze CBP’s current partnership programs based on survey feedback

• Begin work on establishing Centers for Excellence and Expertise(CEE) metrics-including a customer satisfaction survey and the pursuit of academic studies on the CEEs

To continue this excellent work, COAC would like your support by completing the COAC 2013 Trade Efficiency Survey. This captures your input on current, planned, and future CBP facilitation efforts by respondent type and industry type. The survey is anonymous and is accessible via a secure web-based survey tool. The survey takes approximately 20 minutes to finish, and it may be saved and finalized as time permits.

The survey is available from the following link:
