Christmas Gift Ideas for Wine Lovers

Great minds need great books
Here are four ideas to make your life easier this Christmas. Gift ideas for the favourite wine lover in your life.

First, there’s the Legno Art Corkscrew. Made out of polished stainless steel, it feels great in the hand, and the extra centimeter of leverage makes all the difference. It works beautifully. Available at marloweswinestore.ca

While you’re ordering that, order a few dozen of the GoVino champagne flutes from Marlowe as well. These recyclable shatterproof flutes are safe to bring out at parties and run through the dishwasher (although you may want to pull them out before the dry cycle if you’re fussy about the shape).

IF you think a trip to the Okanagan is in your near future, John Schriener’s “The wineries of British Columbia” pictured above makes a great addition any wino library. Available through Amazon and your local book store. (John’s local, Edgemont VQA Wines has a few signed copies if you find yourself in North Van.)

Finally, there are two bottles that most wine lovers will accept with grace. The first and most obvious gift is Pol Roger Rose, 2004. Who doesn’t like a beautiful Champagne? Who doesn’t like to have their Holiday meal accompanied by such finesse? Nuff said.

Most winos of my acquaintance are also whisky lovers. There isn’t much of Forty Creek Port Wood Finished in circulation, and if you know a whisky lover, particularly a Canadian whisky lover, this is a wonderful gift, if you can find it.
