Duchess Meghan wants a ‘point by point’ breakdown of the ‘bullying’ claims against her

The Duke & Duchess Of Sussex Visit Sussex

The new chapters in Robert Lacey’s Battle of Brothers highlighted the still ongoing drama over Meghan’s entrance into the Kensington Palace offices in 2018. As soon as KP staff began working with Meghan in the lead up to H&M’s wedding, all hell broke loose, and relations deteriorated to a very low level in the months after the wedding. It’s worth noting that Meghan was only part of Kensington Palace for about a year. The smear campaign against Meghan absolutely began in KP, I think we know that now. It was a toxic combination of the Middletons pushing the “Meghan made Kate cry” story and staffers claiming that Meghan is a terrible diva, a sociopath and a deeply unhinged person who was “damaged goods” from the start.

What was crazy then – and it’s just as bonkers now – is that we’ve never really gotten firm details on just what Meghan did or said that left people traumatized. She… emailed early in the morning when she was jetlagged. She texted staffers a lot in the lead up to the wedding. She made Kate cry, with no context. None of that is traumatizing or bullying. And we know from media coverage that staffers were gleefully selling their stories and bullying her in the press. So, yeah, the Buckingham Palace investigation carries on. BP handed the investigation off to a law firm, but Lacey’s new stories have drawn more attention back onto the investigation. And wouldn’t you know, Meghan has asked for the right to defend herself:

The Duchess of Sussex will issue a complete rebuttal of a series of allegations that she “bullied” her staff by demanding Buckingham Palace hand over a “point by point” breakdown of the claims. Meghan, 39, has not yet been formally interviewed over claims she presided over a “toxic” work environment while at Kensington Palace, sources have revealed.

Those close to the former actress have suggested the two sides are heading for a “brutal showdown”, after two senior members of staff claimed they were bullied by Meghan during her time as a working royal. The Mirror understands that “at least 10” former palace staffers are now “queuing up” to assist an independent inquiry set up in the wake of the claims.

The “review” of working practices being conducted by an independent law firm was launched in March. Its findings were expected to be announced in the annual Sovereign Grant report to be published on Wednesday but the probe is “ongoing” and may even be delayed until next year.

A source close to the inquiry said: “The feeling is this is heading for a brutal showdown between the Duchess of Sussex who is understood to be disputing all allegations labelled against her. The Palace is taking each and every allegation very seriously and wants to get to the truth of the matter and ensure those speaking up deserve to be heard. But Meghan is adamant the staff were not up to their job and could not deal with the pressure of working for her and understanding how she wanted things to run.”

[From The Daily Mirror]

A “brutal showdown” because Meghan asked to be copied on the accusations so that she can properly defend herself… with receipts. As I said before, I’m not actually worried about the investigation. I think Meghan scared the bejesus out of a lot of these dusty saltines when she made it clear that there is a written record of everything she’s said. I would also assume that goes for her dealings with Kensington Palace staff as well. Besides, I’m pretty convinced that the dozen or so KP staffers lining up to tell their “mean Meghan” stories are in for a rude awakening. “What do you mean it’s not ‘bullying’ when my boss tells me to do my job?” “What do you mean it’s not indicative of sociopathy when my boss assigns me a task? But she’s Black, doesn’t that mean anything to you people?”

The investigation is going to end up like the Fail’s court case. It’s going to be a glorious mess for BP and probably the moment that Chuck cuts EY lose as well.

    • Cecilia says:

If buckingham palace is smart they will end this bullying nonsense now. Because if meg has to defend herself publicly she will do it with receipts. And the last thing they want is have it out there in the open how palace staff treated meghan.

      • Lauren says:

They can’t even if they wanted to. Meghan’s lawyers are very much involved and not letting go. They tried it when they declared very suddenly after the Oprah interview that the investigation was being passed on to a third party. Meghan’s people said, “not so fast, we want to be kept in the loop and informed of everything”. If it weren’t for the fact that Meghan had a very public career, and a super clean professional reputation before this, this bullying mess could have done a lot more damage to her image.

      • JT says:

@Cecilia That would be the smart thing to do; just take the L and move on. Just say that there is no evidence of Meghan bullying anyone, because there isn’t, and the staff acted inappropriately. They have their perfect fall guy in Knauf anyway. They could say that he riled up the staff or something. Because this does not look good. They look like they were trying to pull a fast one and Meg said, “ you think you’re going to get off this easily?” The way those palaces run just behooves me. They are vastly incompetent and straight up stupid.

      • Elizabeth Regina says:

BP, KP and CH outed themselves. Allowing the words unhinged, damaged goods, narcissistic, degree wife, I give the marriage 5 years etc to be gleefully leaked is coming back to bite them on the arse. It’s a sh77t show of a circus firm run by a bunch of racist incompetents.

      • Cecilia says:

@JT @Elizabeth Regina: remember when one palace aide once told the press that meghan has more braincells than the whole windsor bunch combined?

Yeah, you can fully tell that they are not used to a woman holding them accountable for what they actually said. And when in panic, instead of taking a moment to think of the best strategy, they run to the press and double down. They’re all clowns.

      • windyriver says:

@Elizabeth Regina – isn’t that the truth. Said something similar the other day, that the palaces have now pulled back the curtain all by themselves of what went on, and revealed their own reprehensible behavior.

Also of note – the “damaged goods” remark reported by Lacey wasn’t just about Meghan, it referred to both her and Harry, with the additional comment, that people in the palace felt that’s why they were drawn to each other. Both damaged goods. Charming.

      • Nan says:

Cecilia: Yes and remember what Meghan’s good friend Janina Gavankar said on British TV about gross misconduct from a staff member and Meghan keeping the receipts. That will all come out if they persist with the Meghan investigation. The BRF are going to bring themselves down. All Meghan needs to do is keep holding to the truth because they’re doing the dirty work of actually destroying themselves while they think they’re destroying her.

      • Delphine says:

They’re just not. They’re not that bright. Just look how they’ve handled everything so far.

      • My Two Cents says:

what Lauren said, plus they need to clear Meghan’s name now. It’s not enough to want it just to end. and the fact they said people had PTSD is really insulting to people who have real mental health issues.

      • Pinellas Pixie says:

None of the Royals have ever dealt with anyone like Meghan. People are always deferential to them so to have someone, a mixed race American woman no less, stand up to them and hold them accountable for their abuse of her has them in a tizzy. They have never had to defend themselves this way and they are failing in a miserable, yet slightly hilarious, way. They must know she has receipts but maybe they don’t believe she will use them. That shows a failure to learn on their part. She and Harry told their truth in the interview, I don’t know why the Firm continues to provoke as H&M have shown they aren’t playing. There is too much at stake for them to ignore the Palace rantings and the Palace seems incapable of shutting tf up.
I’ve got more than enough popcorn to share.

      • L4frimaire says:

@MyTwoCents, regarding the PTSD comments. I wonder did those workers get help from the palace for that PTSD? If they did, why could they help that person but not help Meghan when she went to them and told them she was struggling with suicidal thoughts. If they didn’t help this employee with PTSD, why didn’t they help them and could they file a formal complaint against the palace and involve the law? If an organization has bullying as they’re asserting, not only is the individual accused as a bully liable, but the actual workplace is too, so why can’t these traumatized people just sue KP instead or go to the labor relations board or whatever they have over there.? Where was their HR in this and why didn’t they address this while it was supposedly happening. Is it be sue the royal households are exempt from these workplace laws?

      • CarlaJC says:

Those people haven’t signed statements for the hell of it. If they were smearing as Meghans says they’ve committed perjury and bore false witness which is a jail able offence. These claims are real and markle gets the result of the investigation she doesn’t get her hands on anyone’s details. As if a person accused of bullying would be given that, it’s not legal practice anyway.

As for the staff not being up to her standards, funny how they were good enough for the royals for years..some of them. If my boss emailed me at 5 am daily with my work I’d tell her where to go as well. She lacks emotional intelligence it’s major problem for her.

    • Me says:

It seems pretty clear that 1) the couriers in their ‘jobs’ at BP and KP have no idea what actual work entails or how to work effectively and efficiently AND 2) they have never been challenged by someone who does know how to work and knows what constitutes acceptable workplace practice. Also, Meghan is a professional woman who is going to defend herself and not just collapse in a heap because BP and KP say so. Those courtiers are totally and utterly unprofessional in every degree—an complete embarrassment.

Look at PedoAndy and Newsnight—-those courtiers actually prepped him for that disastrous interview and until it aired and they were confronted with public reaction they actually thought it went well. Check out Lainey and Duana on Show Your Work for an excellent discussion of that mess.

      • Soupie says:

Also, The Behavior Panel on YouTube decimates PedoAndy’s performance. It’s pretty brutal, as it should be. I watch them a lot. They don’t usually laugh at their subjects, but in this episode they do.

      • TEALIEF says:

@Me : This! Real jobs, at a real workplace, in the real world, not a palace. The real world, where one is held accountable for many things, which include one’s professional conduct and the quality of one’s workproduct. It’s called doing your job. In the real world disputes are litigated. Not all official palace pronouncements are an end-all. This was not a BP State banquet menu, or recollections may vary within the family. Slander coupled to allegations of workplace misconduct on official palace letterhead is still slander.  Discovery is an actual real world legal process.

    • Sarah says:

      Who is EY?

      • Feeshalori says:

Edward Young, the queen’s private secretary

      • Carmen-JamRock says:

        Edward Young. Betty’s private sec’y.

      • Jais says:

Edward Young is the queen’s private secretary but he is essentially Charles’ man as Charles and Andrew worked together to oust her former secretary and put Edward Young in his place. This all went down just as Meghan was entering into the RF and is one of the reasons everything got so bad. Apparently it’s been reported that her former secretary geidst was better at getting the other family members and houses to work together. But not so with Young. Charles wanted Young to help him oust the Wessexes as part of his slimmed down monarchy, which is now moot I guess because they need the wessexes after the sussexes left. Not sure I got that all right but other celebitches please correct or add on.

    • Louise177 says:

I’m only interested in the bullying claims because I really want to know what the staff thinks is bullying. The only thing said is 5am texts/emails. It says a lot that no examples have been leaked. It’s all calling Meghan names and vague comments about driving people crazy and to tears.

      • Lauren says:

There have been other bits and pieces. Like Meghan asked them to actually work and to work to a standard that they weren’t used to and when confronted about it Meghan answered that it wasn’t her job to coddle them. Also, they were overly familiar with her which is something that Chuck lamented a lot, that the people on KP were not very professional and tended to believe that they were friends and not employees. So basically people not being used to work, told to work by a black woman hence the black woman is the bully.

      • StartupSpouse says:

“The Mirror understands that “at least 10” former palace staffers are now “queuing up” to assist an independent inquiry set up in the wake of the claims.”

It’s also worth noting that 10 people are lining up to tell their stories, but it doesn’t say their stories are about Meghan. Maybe I’m nitpicking language, but it’s interesting that it’s phrased to insinuate they are about Meghan, but doesn’t specifically say so.

One reason for the delay could be that people are lining up to tell their stories about other royals and the independent firm feels the scope of the investigation needs to expand…

      • Becks1 says:

Omid said in an interview that Meghan was holding regular meetings with the staff and was in the office every day and the staff……was not used to that. I think he said something snarky like “so when you’re used to only having meetings once a month or only seeing your bosses occasionally, that’s a big change.”

I mean it just sounds to me overall like Meghan expected KP to be professional and competent and it’s not.

      • Eurydice says:

@Becks1 – I suppose when you’re used to a schedule of “10 years = 1 pie chart,” daily meetings must seem like torture.

      • PrincessK says:

Yes, the kind of people who get jobs as PA’s or secretary’s are posh people who come from comfortable backgrounds, usually privately educated, and add that to the British culture of not wanting to be seen to be working too hard. It must have been very difficult for Meghan to have to deal with these kind of people. You find them in publishing houses, art galleries, heritage and other low paid but often glamorous sectors.

      • Coco says:

It’s probably like “too frequent use of exclamation points” and “unorthodox font choices in PowerPoint.” Maybe “once offered a coughing staffer a disposable tissue from a box instead of a monogrammed handkerchief.”

      • One supposedly reported that the thought of Meghan calling on her in a meeting sent her into something akin to a PTS panic and that is her “Meghan is a bully” bullet point! Not — did call on her —- just sitting in the same room as Meghan and Meghan possibly calling on her! Can you imagine being assigned a task and being expected to MAYBE give a status report in a meeting sending you in to total meltdown? I guess if you are used to doing almost nothing it might.

Question: How many lies can you stuff into a 👑🤡🚗?

      • Laurazzle says:

I never understood why they were complaining so much about 5am texts or emails — have they never heard of notification settings??? It’s not Meghan’s fault they don’t know how to properly set up their own devices and set their own work/home boundaries 🤓 turn the phone on silent, set some nighttime hours, respond to any/all messages within working hours — it doesn’t bother me one bit when people text or email me during off work hours because I have my stuff set up properly.

    • Pork chops & Apple sauce says:

Heaven forbid those ensconced courtiers had to work for/with a self-actualized American woman of color. Who let the barbarians get through the gates, how could this have happened?! Pearl clutching little tools.

  2. Golly Gee says:

That’s probably why they’re not completing the investigation until 2022. They’ve got nothing.

    • The Hench says:

Yeah, the timing is nonsense. The investigation is going to last longer than Meghan’s entire time at KP.

    • Myra says:

I hope it’s broadened to include all the documented times that the other royals actually bullied or assaulted staff, or the times when staff get into physical fights over a man. Or how they stay in employment after calling other staff the n-word.

    • Mac says:

I think the delay is to make this quietly go away. BP knows it has the losing hand.

    • Carmen-JamRock says:

M is not going to accept this new timeline for the investigation. When it comes to especially a high profile person’s reputation, you cant publicly accuse and then expect everyone to wait while you go dig up some evidence. The law & precedent are on M’s side.

      • Soupie says:

That’s right. The periods for Discovery in a matter are not open ended. I don’t know whether this is filed in the U.S. or UK but 30 days is the standard for response, and in some cases it’s shorter. Could be longer in this particular matter, but certainly not open-ended or into 2022.

I’m licking my chops at this latest thing; Meghan and her team are going to crush them again. I love it.

      • PrincessK says:

Well, l am not loving it at all. I find it all very stressful, they are starting a new life with a young family in America and the Palace is hell bent on taking a pond of flesh, and in the process irreparably damaging the monarchy. The only winners will be the press vying for leaks to report.

There must be serious problems between CH, BP and KP to allow this nonsense. Charles is showing himself to be very weak.

      • PrincessK says:

The Palace is setting itself on a course for self destruction. Well, l hope that someone reminds us about other royals who have been accused of bullying, like Anne and her father. I also hope that some Palace staff will have the decency to speak up and defend Meghan.
Diana must be turning in her grave, she suffered badly at the hands of people inside the Palace.

      • Pinellas Pixie says:

The timing has to do with Betty’s Platinum Jubilee next year. They want to paint Meghan as a bully and all-round terrible human being (again) around that time to either keep her from attending the Jubilee or making it incredibly painful for H&M to do so. They are truly lacking in humanity, those courtiers. They are going to get a surprise when Meghan’s answers to those charges are made public. Meghan has receipts and, if pushed, she will share them. Yet they push and push….

      • Soupie says:

        @PrincessK
I don’t love the stress, of course. But Meghan is tough, as Prince Charles well knows. I’m loving the fact that she’s going to win. And she’s clearly ok with doing whatever that takes.

    • ennie says:

They are , after all, working at a Kensington Palace pace. ssssllllooooowwwww.

    • By dragging it out they get another year to bash Meghan over the head with it. I mean what else is left? This will play out, just like The Daily Mail dragging out the court case. They will loose in the long term but use it as cannon fodder and a distracting bat to deflect from other royal BS until then. This is about continuing to bash Meghan for daring to have been a working royal and using her as a decoy for their sorry ass behaviors. They’ve certainly got no current or future info on her since the Sussexes checked out of the Firm’s Heartbreak Hotel. Pathetic. I’m hoping her lawyers use everything they’ve got to shorten the legal timeline.

  3. Emily says:

The Robert Lacey excerpt from the other day didn’t give any examples of Meghan bullying staff, but there were a bunch of examples of the staff bullying Meghan.

    • Becks1 says:

Which is going to be a problem for KP, right? If the big thing that comes out of this is that we learn exactly which staffer was leaking which story to the press? Like if we find out which staffer specifically complained about the 5 am emails? Which staffer called Rebecca English “in tears”?

This is going to be bad for KP and I cannot believe that William did not realize that. I mean I can, but I’m still kind of dumbfounded about it.

      • JT says:

That’s what is so dumb. The new extracts just prove that Meghan was the one bullied. How does admitting that they called her names and undermined her make them look innocent? It’s insane.

      • Nina says:

They want to fight in the real world instead of their disneyfied insular fairyland, show them what happens when you try to bring that shit into the real world.
Meghan is going to crush them again.

On another note, which is making a lot of people smile. Someone just found a book Meghan wrote in 8th grade as part of a class project. The Duchess even had it copyrighted and there is a copy in the Library of Congress.

      • Elizabeth Regina says:

Exactly. Plus these staffers were very specific in THEIR abusive language towards her which they leaked gleefully. Who knew those same words will come back to haunt them as proof of THEIR bullying and more importantly breaking their confidentiality agreements.

      • Harper says:

There was a pap shot of Harry and Meghan in a car a few days before the Oprah interview aired and I’ll never forget the looks on their faces–akin to Harry’s Commonwealth Murder face. We figured that was taken right after they had been briefed about the bullying allegations. There is no way Meghan is letting this bullying claim go unchallenged. She will get her justice on this one and she deserves it.

      • JayNay says:

not just which staffer leaked what – I would be hard pressed to believe anyone from a royal household that has a famous “never explain” motto would run to reporters about anything without at least implicit approval from the top. What’s at stake here isn’t which staffer said what, but how much did William and Kate know? did they actively push this or just approved it by doing nothing to prevent the leaks and lies? or did their staff go rogue against their explicit wishes not to smear their sister-in-law? Either one would be a bad look.
And if these people are as competent in IT as they are in PR, you know Meghan’s access to emails and files wasn’t locked down right away when they announced their exit. She probably has backup disks full of material that the royal family would not want to be made public.

      • Kalana says:

William has never been held accountable for anything in his life. He has no comprehension of consequences for his actions. He’s been raised to be dumb and arrogant and entitled.

    • Myra says:

Imagine you’re the lawyer investigating this and the person sitting across you detailing their abuse is ranting on like “She is a sociopath, a b*tch, a narcissist. She is unhinged and damaged goods”. How could you trust anything they say after that?

      • Anners says:

Especially when you ask ‘what do you mean by that?’ And the answer is – she sent emails at 5am and expected me to do my job… just… wow.

    • LaraW” says:

I kind of think this was supposed to be the KP version of “pulling out the big guns,” the story that was supposed to reinforce and supercede the “Meghan made Kate cry” stuff. Act II to the “Meghan is a horrible mean person” smear, so to speak.

Unfortunately, while there is no way to carry out an investigation on Kate’s claims because it amounts to she said/she said, roping in the institution, a legal entity that can be subjected to legal scrutiny, changed everything. I wonder if there’s also a degree of shock that someone would dare to demand a complete and thorough investigation of what amounts to the monarchy’s employment practices. Staff and courtiers seem to make up 80% of the institution. I wonder if they relied on the prestige and traditional deference of The Monarchy to protect them and then much, much later realized they stepped into a matter that is actually governed by UK law and requires certain steps to be taken to ensure the Firm, as a business, is in legal compliance.

And unfortunately for them, Meghan is American, with a long history of civic engagement. There is no aspect of government that is so sacrosanct that it cannot be held accountable. If the Firm is going to claim to run as a business, then they should be subject to the same rules as a business. Actually, I wonder if the “the palace is not required to follow hiring practices passed into law” came out of this investigation. And I find it kind of ironic that the palace issued a statement that THEY THEMSELVES would open the investigation to give the appearance of crossing t’s and dotting i’s, only to have it really blow up in their face.

      • LaraW” says:

One more thing that occurred to me— we’ve been assuming that most of this is just lower level staffers complaining about Meghan’s behavior towards them. But it could be that it implicates people much higher up the food chain, like Jason Knauf. Who else in more senior positions have their necks on the line? And in the age old tradition of covering one’s ass, what might lower level staff say that could implicate those in much higher positions?

  4. Amy Bee says:

As I said on the other post, I hope Meghan sues KP after this investigation is over.

    • ennie says:

I do think KP/CP whomever are hard pressed doing this while granny is still alive, so they can shout “how dare they do this to granny, poor fragile recently widowed granny!” , after that is how dare they do this to grandpa Charles, he raised them, a single dad! they are breaking his heart!”, etc, etc. As if whomever was leaking, did not care to do this to a young family, a pregnant woman who had a clean working slate.
      .
BTW, I saw this past father’s day, pics of Charles with the cambridge kids in his IG, and some comments were about how there are no recent pics with Harry’s boy. None of the h8ers could remember how Charles had to complain PUBLICLY to get more access to his cambridge grandchildren. Amazing.

  5. Chica71 says:

They have nothing which is why the complaint investigation has been put off until 2022. I’m guessing Charles will be King and the investigation get lostetc.

    • equality says:

You could very well be right. They might just keep putting it off in hopes that it will be eventually forgotten. I hope Meghan pushes and doesn’t let them get away with that.

      • JT says:

I don’t think Meg is going to let them sweep it all under the rug. If that was the case, her lawyers wouldn’t have intervened. She’s gonna make the palace clear her name, which is kind of brilliant.

      • Cecilia says:

@equality: i hope meghan pushes them to get it done this year. Because there is no reason for a investigation into a complaint to take a damn year. They could have been done by now if they started after the oprah interview.

    • Bren says:

It’s conveniently delayed until after Jason Knauf’s departure. Once he’s gone BP will close the case because they’ll say all parties involved have moved on. It protects KP and BP while leaving Meghan out to dry and unable to defend herself.

      • Jais says:

This is what I worry about also @bren. But gotta have faith that Meghan and her team are prepared for all possibilities and will know what to do.

  6. Snuffles says:

“we’ve never really gotten firm details on just what Meghan did or said that left people traumatized”

An American black woman asked them to work, which they weren’t used to doing and gave them tasks they were clearly not qualified to do. And refused to even try because their bosses the Cambridges told them they should block Meghan at every turn.

It’s no surprise that Meghan went outside and around them and used her personal contacts to get her projects done.

If they were having breakdowns, it probably because they were terrified of what William would do to them if they didn’t succeed in blocking all of Meghan’s projects and getting her to give up.

    • Amy Bee says:

@Snuffles: You raised a good point about Meghan going outside KP to get things done. She was criticized by the press for doing that but if the staff refused to work for her then she had no choice but do it. The aim was to make sure she failed and the fact that she was successful despite the KP staff would have made William and Kate very angry.

      • Elizabeth Regina says:

Luckily the staff themselves went out of the way to tell the press how they put her in her place by refusing her many requests like candles in the church etc. They called her an upstart, a degree wife and William proudly told his friends that even Kate never liked her. I’m sure our good sis kept those receipts.

    • ArtHistorian says:

Weren’t there also stories in the press at the time that KP staff told Meghan to her face that they didn’t work for her – and then Kate had to get involved? The press framed it as Kate “telling off” Meghan but the pertinent detail really was the fact that KP staff refused to do what Meghan asked them to do even though Meghan and Harry was under KP. I distinctly remember those stories.

      • Merricat says:

        Yep, I remember those stories.

      • Elizabeth Regina says:

Yup. Who knew that they were providing evidence against themselves. I love when stupid people try to play smart.

      • Digital Unicorn says:

Makes you think who Kate really told off – but it also exposes how badly run KP is where staff are running the show instead of their Principles. But then again we know how ‘hands off’ Cain and Unable are so clearly others got ideas above their station.

      • ABritGuest says:

Exactly. Probably wasn’t the best idea to leak to people like Camilla Tominey that the staff didn’t want to work for an American cable actress & that they thought “who do you think you are” specifically in relation to Meghan when getting orders from Harry& Meghan. Tominey even admitted to hearing lots of misogyny & anti American attitudes about Meghan (but not racism of course). One of these biographies that came out last year said KP staff looked down on her & Meghan knew it.

When the bullying claims first came out in March, Rebecca English said one PA was asked to handle travel arrangements for Thomas Markle & refused as she felt it wasn’t part of her job. I’m wondering if this was the famous Melissa who apparently was let go for gross misconduct. But interesting that this staffer could stand up to ‘tyrannical’ Meghan even though arranging travel seems like standard part of the job description for most personal assistants I’ve come across.

The palaces’ claims around Meghan rarely stand up once there’s scrutiny or push back. This is probably going to be like when Jason Knauf had to admit he didn’t help Meghan with her letter etc. That’s why i suspect it’s been pushed back to 2022 to try brush under the carpet. OR to build speculation for whether Meghan will attend the jubilee events or not. I can’t see why this review would need to take so long.

    • The Hench says:

@Snuffles – that’s a brilliant point. Maybe the reason staff were ‘shaking’ and ‘terrified’ dealing with Meghan is not because they were afraid of her but because they were afraid of Baldingham’s retaliation if they helped her shine? I’m going to go back and read the Lacey article with that head on….

      • Lemons says:

This definitely sounds more plausible. Their real job was to block Meghan and ensure her failure. With every success Meghan had despite them, the more their jobs at KP were at risk. It wasn’t about real work but childish, abusive games.

      • ennie says:

For sure their job was to delay them, to stall their work and projects, particularly hers.
Remembre the jewelry thing, when the Tiara and Diana’s jewelry, and the earrings sabotage, also, the assistant that traveled with them to Oceania, I think it was that Melissa woman, who left the tag hanging on her dress.

    • Betsy says:

Knowing what we know from what William’s side has leaked, that he had ordered them to keep her ineffective seems totally plausible. That there would be repercussions if they didn’t keep her ineffective seems also plausible and frightening for the those staffers.

  7. Neners says:

BP trying to figure out how to save face by “completing” the “investigation” whilst preventing Meghan from ripping all of the skeletons from the closet at the same time. O, the tangled web we stupidly weave!

  8. Merricat says:

How do you like our duchess now, W’Il Douche?

    • bettyrose says:

LMFAO! I know this is all probably very painful for H & M and I’m not trivializing that, but from an outsiders perspective it’s hilarious that the RF is coming completely undone over an . . . American . . . who is just living her own best life.

  9. Sofia says:

Like I said in the other post, I’m glad Meghan and her lawyers are fighting back at this and want to see the report and prepare to fight back.

  10. Becks1 says:

Of course she’s going to insist on a point by point breakdown and she’s going to combat each allegation. They are trying yet again to destroy her reputation and she’s not going to stand for that.

@Sofia had commented in the other post about how BP just wanted this report to be about “how the complaints were handled” not the actual complaints (i.e. if the bullying allegations were real, why did Jason Knauf’s email go nowhere?) And I remember hearing that a few months ago – I think that was BP’s way of trying to get out of this mess. “well we’re not really going to consider whether there was bullying, we’re just going to try to learn and change our processes if necessary.” And Meghan said NOPE. That’s not what we’re going to do.

This is such a lose-lose for the palace and I think the palace knows it.

    • Elizabeth Regina says:

The lessons learnt angle is a very British thing that’s often said when there’s been a monumental screw up till the next time. Then it’s rinse and repeat.

    • LaraW” says:

Speaking of point by point rebuttals, why did Charles ultimately decide not to issue one after the Oprah interview? Was it because he DID say he was going to change the letters patent? Or he DID express concern about the color of Archie’s skin? Or he DID stop taking Harry’s calls and suddenly pulled security? The more stories come out, the more confirmations we get that Meghan and Harry were indeed telling the truth.

But no, Charles decided not to issue the point by point rebuttal to, yet again, try to paint himself as the better man. I am now going to assume that every time Charles says something like this, it’s because the allegations against him are either true or are the tip of the iceberg in a much larger, much more damning truth.

      • Becks1 says:

I think Charles was told not to issue the point-by-point rebuttal first because it would just continue the PR war, and at the time we were hearing from BP that the Queen was telling everyone to stand down.

I also think that someone managed to convince him that it would look very bad if he could not rebut EVERYTHING they said. Like maybe charles wanted to issue a statement saying “no I did not pull security this is what actually happened” but he can’t deny the skin color conversation or the refusal to help Meghan when she was suicidal etc. So if you can’t deny everything, don’t deny anything bc it just highlights what you AREN’T denying. If that makes sense, lol.

It’s kind of like what Harry did with the skin color conversation – by coming out and clarifying that it was not the Queen and not Prince Phillip, he made it clear that it was either Charles or William. If it wasn’t them, he would have said so. And I think the reason he did not say who else it wasn’t was bc it just would have made it obvious who it was (like if he had said it wasn’t Charles either, then everyone would know it was William.) As it stands there’s a bit of room for deniability from both camps.

My big takeaway from it though is that there IS someone at Clarence House that Charles listens to from a PR standpoint because not issuing that rebuttal was a smart move. Issuing one would have been disastrous. But it does not seem like William listens to anyone.

    • Harper says:

Now that the headlines calling Meghan a bully were blasted world-wide, the Palace will step in and investigate! But only investigate the process. Not the messy human name-calling and accusations. William has really really stepped in it for the Firm. Imagine what the legal costs are in defending this, all because Prince Elegant the Incandescent was consumed by jealousy and hatred. Maybe that is why he looks like death warmed over nowadays? Someone in the finance department is ripping him for the legal bills. Did the Firm make him sell his polo ponies to pay for this?

      • Nina says:

Nah….He most probably just sucks at polo and with Charles and Harry no longer there to cover his mediocrity, he has to stop playing the sport.

    • BothSidesNow says:

That’s what is so comical about the entire situation. They were playing checkers with Meghan as she was playing chess! They had no idea what they were up against when they started to try and block her every move and that she has a solid 15+ years of character witnesses that have always maintained that Meghan has never bullied anyone who has come into contact with her. Meghan is brilliant and extremely well versed in the world of handling engagements and supporting and creating opportunities across many platforms. Meghan has no intention of allowing them to further their smear campaign against her but they just keep digging themselves in deeper. The fact that Cain came out the other day and made the statement that Unble never liked Meghan was an enormous mistake, on his part, but it certainly helps Megan and her lawyers with their own investigation. Cain was determined to cause Meghan to fall flat on her face, but he certainly underestimated her. In fact, the entire Firm underestimated Meghan, and she has the receipts to prove it.

      • Lucky Charm says:

“They were playing checkers with Meghan as she was playing chess!” Perfectly apt description. And now they are bringing a knife to a gun fight and still can’t comprehend why they are outmatched.

    • notasugarhere says:

This plus KP has already forced out at least two key people who were at the top of the chain bullying Meghan themselves. Christian Jones (?) and Jason Knauf.

  11. Nlopez says:

Some people have problems with black people being in charge. I’m a black woman, I’ve been a pediatric nurse for 15+ yrs, and people see me and ask for “another nurse”. Ive also entered a room and introduced myself as the nurse, wearing my nurse name tag, and my nurse scrubs, and families have ignore me and asked The nurse aide questions. I usually just leave the room. If they want pain meds they ask for me.

    • Piratewench says:

I’ve always said nurses are angels. Every time I’ve been in a desperately unwell situation (post c-section, post birth, barely conscious in the ER from a horrible virus, you name it) it has always been a nurse’s hands helping me, a nurse attending to my body when it was giving out.
The thought of discriminating against a person who has given their life to this profession is so abhorrent. Those people do not deserve the care and professional help of a nurse when they act that way. I wish you never had to endure that in your work place. I hope you know that you are a hero!

Thank you for sharing your experience. It’s horrible that for some people they just can’t respect the position of a black woman.

      • The Hench says:

I also owe my life to excellent nursing care. I second Piratewench – @Niopez you are a bloody hero.

      • Hell Nah! says:

        Well said, Piratewench!!

All good Blessings to you, Nlopez. These racist ingrates don’t deserve your care and kindness.

      • bettyrose says:

My mom and all her friends were nurses when I was growing up and OMG the stories I would hear. That’s why I went into a non medical field. I was way to squeamish to handle what nurses do on the daily, but this was back when it was barely a decade after nurses stopped being sexualized at work. They wore scrubs not cute little skirts, and they were badasses. But even then I never really understood what they did until I myself was hospitalized and realized you only ever see your nurses. The doctor waltzes in, takes some credit, and then waltzes back out while the nurses care for you.

    • Merricat says:

Those people are fools. I have such respect for those in your line of work. Thank you for all you do.

      • Nlopez says:

Thanks to you all for your kind comments! It warms this nurse’s heart. For me, It is truly an honor to help people. 😊

      • BothSidesNow says:

As do I!! My mother and grandmother were both nurses so I also believe that nurses are Angels on earth!! I have the greatest respect for them! I am here to tell you that you are an Angel!! You are also admired by a majority of people, it just sucks that some people are just hateful people. It doesn’t reflect on you or your staff at all!!
Thank you for your dedication, your kindness and devoting your life to hold our hands, help us getting to the bathroom and being our advocate in dealing with doctors, that can be assholes, and always being there in times that we are at our worst when dealing with such an awful experience. But you always come in to make sure that we are being taken care of and fighting for us in anything we need!!
        Thank you ☺️

    • Nina says:

This is horrible. This just makes me boil with anger and rage. Acting like that towards a person who is there to help their child but treating that person with such contempt for no other reason than the color of their skin.

    • HeyThere! says:

@NLOPEZ people are insane and I’m so sorry you experience this. I would love to be under your care and thank you for everything you do!

    • Truthiness says:

Nlopez, I am so sorry you have had to go through that. Nurses are lifesavers 24/7, such a major part of the healing process. ♥️ FFS what is wrong with people? And I bet there were staff that didn’t want to take orders from a black person.

    • Lady D says:

I was so impressed with the retired nurse that gave me my Covid shot that I asked her if I could be her friend. I walked out of there thinking how lucky her patients must have been. @Nlopez, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You do a job that 90% of the population can’t or won’t.

  12. Cecilia says:

If buckingham palace has any brains left they should announce the end of this “investigation” very soon. Because the last thing they want is meg defending herself publicly with receipts

    • The Hench says:

Yep. But the FIRST thing I want is Meg defending herself. I’m not normally a vindictive person but I really, really want to see KP shut down HARD on this. Because maybe, just maybe they will learn to leave her the f alone AND people will also start to question all the other nonsense that’s out there about her. I want the scab ripped off and the ooze that is KP exposed to the light. If this is just allowed to drift away then it will always stain Meghan’s reputation.

Ahem. And back in my box quietly…

      • L84Tea says:

I agree. So much of the bs in the early days of Meghan’s marriage came wrapped up in this box from KP–the complaining about 5am emails, calling her nasty names, literally phoning reporters every time she blinked making crap up. While I am devastated for Meghan that she has to keep going thru this and can’t seem to shed those royal ticks who want to keep sucking her dry, I am thrilled that the baddest bitch of them all–Karma–is coming home to wail her battle cry.

I hope every last one of them are exposed–Jason, William, Kate, the reporters. And I hope all those fragile sausages are forced to admit there was NO bullying.

  13. Woke says:

We all know the bullying accusations are bullshit. They will never clear her name even if she drop receipt that what’s upsetting.

    • Piratewench says:

Oh absolutely. It will never end. I always relate this situation to having narcissist family members, because that’s exactly what I see here.
They will keep going until all their relationships lie in ruins, before they ever admit that they were mistaken. Narcissists can’t give it up. They will destroy their own families over a lie before they will ever say “oops, my bad, please forgive my error”.

That’s why I hope to see M and H stop responding at some point. But, I’ve been there and the urge to keep defending myself against a smear campaign (launched by my own sick mother no less) can be overwhelming and it takes constant clarity of mind that I have to stay disengaged. I can not IMAGINE if the lies about me and stories and bizarre accusations about me were in the press. It would be very hard to turn away.

  14. Serena says:

The fu*king nerve they have to keep going about this BS accusations, really no shame at all. I wish them the worst public humiliation possible.

  15. A says:

The way this investigation is being handled is exhbit A that at the very least the PR reps at kensington palace our playing in the minor leagues. The fact that they thought this would somehow take away from the claims made initial interview shows how amatur thinking these people are. The notion that they were just going to just go ahead and investigate themselves is/was not only laughable, but shows the lack of basic understanding of how alllegations like these are supposed to be handled. Finally, the latest notion that this is being “privately funded” is the biggest lie yet by whom? and why? The royal family is a publicly run instuituion, these people are publicly funded and these allegations(lack of actual specfic’s and all) were made in a public forum.

    • Cessily says:

Never known of an investigation into workplace bullying where the accused has left the employer (so intimidation of current employees and past ones is not an issue at all.) that takes this long now they want until 2022??
      Why?
Meghan should have her attorneys start their own investigation because the constant headlines and accusations regarding these false allegations are damaging and just wrong. Major crimes get trials faster than this, total incompetence and no professionalism in the BRF /Firm.

      • mynameispearl says:

The investigation will inform staff policy and procedures against any future bullying. It’s not to punish an individual who has obviously left the organisation.

If it was true that staff members were bullied, and this was reported and swept under the rug due to the seniority of the person doing the alleged bullying then that would need to be investigated and changes would need to be implemented.

I assume that’s why there was a 3rd party brought in to do the investigation. It doesnt look very good for BP that their staff could be bullied and they turned a blind eye for convenience.

      • Nina says:

No. Her attorneys are doing the right thing. If they started their own investigation, it will let KP off the hook, and then KP will just stonewall them. PWT is about to find out how things are handled in the real world by people who don’t have to kiss his ass to stay employed.

This explains the sudden surge of new articles the last few days in BM regarding the so-called bullying. They thought they were just going to release their little report and that was the end of it. Until Meghan and her lawyers said not so fast…

      • Carmen-JamRock says:

“The investigation will inform staff policy and procedures against any future bullying…..”

LMFAO Yeah suuuure. After 100 years of DOCUMENTED incidences of the royals bullying their ‘betters’ suddenly, after the first biracial duchess enters the family, theyre gonna think about implementing “staff policy and procedures against any future bullying.”

Are people stupid enough to proffer such a justification for BP/KP/CH mouthpieces barefacedly sullying Meghan’s reputation?!! Seriously?!!

  16. Chaine says:

If some portion of this relates to emails and texts, you’d expect any terrible bullying emails and texts to have been leaked by now, but none have been. That seems to point to nothing more than run-of-the-mill normal communications about work that the palace staffers weren’t used to because with Will and Kate as bosses they aren’t used to bosses actually working and expecting employees to work.

  17. lanne says:

Talk about opening Pandora’s box! This is the danger of mediocrity: they have no ability to imagine consequences for their actions. They continually underestimate their foes. This bullying investigation is a hot mess of a no brainer. The only one who will get burned by it is the royals, unless they come out and say there’s a different standard for POCs behavior. Which is probably illegal. Now we get to hear stories of the royals bullying staff and it will be hard to spin them as somehow better than getting an email sent at 5am. Their inability to shut off email notifications on their smart phone is not meghans problem.

    • ArtHistorian says:

“The only one who will get burned by it is the royals, unless they come out and say there’s a different standard for POCs behavior. Which is probably illegal.” – BP made sure that the royal households are exempt from the laws on racial and sexual discrimination. There was an article on this recently. Technically, it is not illegal for the royal household to discriminate in regard to race, gender and sexuality – but it is a TERRIBLE look for them.

And there has been several stories over the years about royals physically assaulting their staff – specifically Charles and Andrew. It was reported in the press that Charles choked one of his employees, and there was NO consequences! I remember reading an article about a book a former employee had written years ago – and he said that the most liked royal among the staff was Prince Philip who was a decent boss. The Queen’s sons were especially singled out for being absolutely horrible to work for.

      • Miranda says:

There is literally no reason to exempt themselves from such laws unless they were already guilty of discriminatory practices, and also planned to continue f–king over marginalized people in the future. NO REASON AT ALL.

    • Piratewench says:

Right?! How is her sending an email at 5am a problem for anyone?! It’s not her issue if people consider every email an instant command, or can’t turn off notifications while sleeping.
My boss is a night owl and I’ll wake up to an email he has sent at 2am, 3am, etc. I do not care. That’s when he gathered his thoughts and sent a communication, and he certainly doesn’t expect an answer until I’m up, ready for the work day and opening my inbox. To think otherwise is just ridiculous.

It so happens my boss is a black man and can you believe, I am STILL able to handle emails at unconventional hours from a POC! These people just need to admit they are racist and ruffled by any POC giving them any kind of input. That’s the real story here.

      • Ania says:

Exactly. As long as nobody expects me to answer immediately they can send emails anytime they want. I work from 9 to 3, pick up my daughter from kindergarten and finish work late evening. My employee knows well that I respect her work hours and she can read my emails when she starts her day. This is not a rocket science or sth that needed a genius to work out….. and as you said – turning off e-mail notifications recommended!

    • ennie says:

They’d die if they had been teachers during this pandemic at my schools. Literally no personal time. These poor sausages have absolutely no sympathy from me, they’ve been to coddled, for real, don’t know what work is. Thank Lazy and Lazier for that.
They (KP) released all this to try to gain sympathy for them, since people would empathize with the poor bullied workers, guess what? I think they have no idea what a demanding job is. I’ve been there and I was not cut for its I remained in education, not assistant to political/organizational levels. And still teaching is very demanding physically, even more so than being in the upper levels, but I prefer it. I know what hard work is , and I DO NOT empathize with these staffers.

  18. Lizzie says:

The staff were not going to be told what to do by 1 Harry’s show girl, 2 an American, 3 a black woman, 4 someone new to the rf – after all keen had been an intern for a decade.
Lovely how they bullied Meghan and called her names to the press then say she played victim.

  19. Hanna says:

Everyday I’m thankful that I didnt born and married into this disgusting family. This is truly a vile family. They already damage Sussex brand and name and this bullying making it worse by dragging it to next year. They know their bullying allegations is bs. Many in twitter laughed how brits complain abt 5 am emails. They have nothing and they know , whoever handle Meghan case the judge knows , allowing palaces staff to testify open door to diasters. Any sitting judge in uk knows it. I hope meghan sue and win because hardly any member of royal family lost the case in civil court. Meghan exposing royal family is the last thing they want right now.

    • Snuffles says:

They are TRYING to damage the Sussex brand but failing SPECTACULARLY. They’ve actually done the opposite. They’ve done nothing but give them free press and helped them get great sales, views and streams for everything they do.

      • lanne says:

I hope all of the women currently fantasizing about their primary school age children marrying either George or Louis take all of this to heart. Marrying into the royal family should be considered a biohazard. Those boys probably should marry at all if the royal family still exists. For their sake, supposing they are cis-hetero, I hope the royal family has been abolished by then so that they can live their own lives.

When you think about it, being a royal has been a net loss in Harry’s life. A bane, not a boon. Maybe parents in the UK can start using the RF as a threat: “If you don’t behave, I’m going to send you to live the the royal family!”

      • Snuffles says:

        @lanne

By the time the Cambridge children are of marriageable age, no decent man or woman on earth will want to touch them with a ten foot pole if they are still a part of The Firm. Only grifters will latch onto them which is how William got stuck with Kate.

      • lanne says:

        *boys shouldn’t marry at all

      • Emily says:

I’ve already told my kids that they aren’t allowed to marry into the royal family (they’re still in nappies so so far no objections 😛 ).

    • Bess says:

I keep coming back to Meghan never being told exactly what her role within the royal family was supposed to be. It didn’t matter to them if Meghan could “hit the ground running” when it came to championing causes if the Queen, Charles and William wanted her to “walk slowly”.

I don’t think Meghan understood that she wasn’t marrying into a meritocracy. It didn’t matter to the family that she was an energetic worker with great ideas.

      • SnoodleDumpling says:

Yeah, one of the many things that has become clear in this whole mess is that the BRF as a whole considers the charity stuff to be purely for the sake of PR, ‘a happy peasant is a peasant who isn’t trying to murder you’ and all.

Harry, on the other hand, really does seem to take the concept of noblesse oblige in its’ most ancient and purest form VERY seriously. With the privileges and rights of rank comes a duty to the public and the public good (part of which is not abusing ones’ privileges and rights). And if Harry didn’t realize just how certain people in the family saw the job, how on earth could he warn Meghan about it?

  20. Miranda says:

Ooh, that photo in the burgundy dress! I’m sure it was taken ages ago and is completely unrelated to the matter at hand, but Meghan’s expression totally looks like she’s thinking “try me, bitch”. Like she’s going to absolutely relish showing all those receipts.

    • notasugarhere says:

I think that was from an event during the Aussie tour, right after they announced they were expecting. It is a wraparound top with a peplum, then she wore straight black trousers with it.

  21. TheOriginalMia says:

BP knows who the real bullies at KP were and it wasn’t Meghan. Even as their petty nicknames and actions are exposed in Lacey’s book, they still want to play the victim. In the meantime, Meghan’s reputation has been trashed and her life put at risk, but sure…KP staff were treated so badly by the American. Expose them, Meghan! Destroy them in court for the slander.

  22. mess says:

One of my favourite things these days is watching Jen Psaki handling ridiculous questions from pseudo-journalists, and I see parallel between that and what most likely happened between Meghan and the incompetent hacks she had to deal with at the Palace. Those hacks got used to the lack of professionalism and ethics and all Psaki/ Meghan does/ did is not letting them get away with it and holding everyone to the reasonable expectations of adults doing the jobs they’re supposed to in good faith.

    • ElleE says:

@mess same. Day 1, baby. Day 1 was glorious and it just keeps getting better. For anyone that thinks a professionalism/communications is something anyone can do, watch JP in action.

MM is stunning in these pictures.

  23. Sam says:

What I find really weird is that there are no reports of her “psychotic” behaviour from BP camp. Anyone that is a bully doesn’t suddenly stop, they moved from KP to BP so shouldn’t we have gotten something from BP yet its all from KP.

  24. Petra says:

A proper investigation of a workplace bulling allegations always involves both parties facing questioning and providing answers. Meghan still does not know what are the allegations against her. For her lawyers needing to request information from KP is a big tell that KP is handling the investigation rather poorly. Bulling allegations cannot and should not be investigated in a bubble. It is unfair to the alleged victim(s) and the alleged perpetrator(s).
A never ending investigation is not an investigation, it becomes a fishing expenditure or a witch hunt.

  25. Liz version 700 says:

Meghan has the receipts. Alphabetized, cross referenced by date, and ready to use at a moments notice. These folks are going to get laughed out of town.

  26. Izzy says:

This delay is to try and make this fade quietly from public memory. They really decided to fcuk around and find out, now they get to reap the consequences.

  27. Nina says:

They are about to find out why their ancestor Mad King George lost the colonies

  28. Likeyoucare says:

Sue them meghan, burn them all.

  29. Mel says:

You would think that they would have figured it out by now, she is NOT the one. Megan keeps her receipts……

  30. Athena says:

There has been not one real solid example of bullying but plenty of examples of the name calling of Meghan by the staff because they ran to the press like a bunch of mean girls to tell the press by what names they call her. If she was bullying them they would have told the press specifically what she has said or done, we haven’t heard any of that.
KP for some reason is not trying to let the story go away. Just this week we had a story on how William threw Harry and Meghan out of Kensington palace over the bullying. He probably thought this is the period at the end of the sentence. Or he may have thought that he would put his weight behind the allegations and that would scare her into backing down.
I have a fearless trait, when I know I’m right, I’m not backing down no matter who you think you are, and Meghan seems the same. She’s not impressed by ffk, (spell check corrected ffk to fake, I like that) it’s who you as a human being not what title you hold that impresses.

It wasn’t enough for them to chase her out, they want her broken. They are trying to impact her ability to earn a living, to make her so toxic no one will work with her. What these people have done to this woman’s good name, the hateful people they have unleashed on her is reprehensible.

    • lanne says:

I agree. I hope this debacle opens up stories of how POC are treated in the UK. If this is the “gold standard,” then I can only imagine what WOC in professional jobs experience. It’s bad enough in the US but at least we have the conversations. The “no structural racism here, no sirree” folks must be exhausting, humiliating, and infuriating.

      • BritDebbie says:

The best thing about the “we’ve found no racism here” report is that half the sources they put in went to the media and said that they did not take part in any of this investigation. When the report writers were asked, it was because the attended a get together either in Downing street or in a government building. They had to remove a lot of important names.

One of the papers quoted was out of date and the author had written an update saying that their findings were incorrect! Another person was quoted that “they attended the first meeting but the person leading it had already made up their mind and wouldn’t listen to any view that did not agree with their own”.

It was completely ripped apart by actual academics. Quality work!

Fortunately, @Lanne, there is already an academic book recently published about Britain’s systemic racism being thoroughly and scarily revealed through Meghan’s documented and ongoing experiences with the British royals.

The book is on Amazon: “Revealing Britain’s Systemic Racism: The Case of Meghan Markle and the Royal Family,” by Joe R. Feagin and Kimberley Ducey.

Feagin has written a number of academic books on the topic of racism. He is a Texas-based sociology professor in his 80th decade. Ducey is a sociology professor, based in Canada. I haven’t yet read this book, but it sounds promising.

  31. S808 says:

Between the unethical jewelry angle and the bullying angle, idk which was a worse own goal for KP/BP.

  32. BnlurNforever says:

Yes. I hope Meghan and her lawyers lock their teeth into this and doesn’t let go until someone is forced to say all allegations of abuse against Meghan, Duchess of Sussex is false. What an abusive, repulsive institution TBRF is.

  33. Athena says:

They need to publicly come out and say they found nothing to support the allegations. A lessons learn statement will imply somehow that the allegations were valid.
Theses people have loudly and publicly accused her and should just as loudly and just as publicly clear her name.

  34. Nic919 says:

They are waiting until Knauf is officially gone because he did so many things wrong just based on what has been reported to date. Any competent lawyer would destroy the allegations based on his unprofessional and biased actions alone. And that doesn’t even address the fact that none of the alleged victims actually made the complaint themselves. So as it stands it looks like Knauf was building a case against Meghan himself without consent from the alleged bullying victims.
(Also I am sure toubati is a part of this mess, but since she was let go under questionable circumstances, any claims she makes have zero credibility).

    • Jais says:

Knauf is supposed to stay on until the end of the year right? So 2022 would be releasing the report after he left, which means he could take the blame. Or could it mean once they give the report to Meghan’s lawyers, Knauf will have bounced and will stonewall Meghan’s lawyers as they try to follow up. I don’t trust these evil people even with all of Meghan’s receipts. For example, if the investigation is more about HR not following up than the claims itself, can the report literally be made without addressing the validity of the bullying claims one way or another? If that happens, what legal recourse can Meghan take to fight everything that’s been said? Does she sue the papers or Knauf? Does she sue no one but just drop her receipts for the court of public opinion? Sorry if this is pessimistic or I’m missing something here. It seems like a slum dunk if she has the receipts but want to be mentally prepared for how this could actually go.

      • Demi says:

My guess Knauf left after the Mail on Sunday case the Cambridges saying he will stay until the end of the year to save face.. I hope she sues KP as a whole over defamation it’s not just Knauf dozen of staff were leaking lies& her lawyers definitely keep copies of all the receipts, emails& info on that gross misconduct of KP staff..

      • Cessily says:

You are right knauf is leaving at the very end of 2021he did not resign immediately after the entire copyright of Meghans letter fiasco he falsified.

    • notasugarhere says:

I think he is ‘technically’ not leaving until the end of 2021, which indicates he’s likely already out and being moved out of the country with his husband’s surprise new job.

  35. Scorpion says:

Sorry to the thread jack but CT is being dragged on Twitter for the last 24hrs for being a liar. It’s glorious to see 🤭

  36. MangoAngelesque says:

Okay, speaking from my own personal experiences/perspective, I feel absolutely confident in saying that there is NO way Meghan wasn’t proactive in how she communicated with people.

What I mean is, she has clearly dealt with narcissists her entire life, primarily her father. Narcissists notoriously rewrite history to suit their own narratives, twist your words, gaslight you, flat-out lie with no compunction, the works. So M has spent literal decades learning how to navigate that type of relationship. That bleeds over into every other aspect of your life. It becomes habitual to always have “proof” or “backup” of absolutely everything you communicate to other people, especially people outside of your immediate, most intimate circle.

So there is no way Meghan communicated her requests, complaints, praises, OR criticisms verbally, or without at least having referenced it in written form soon after. So if she had a discussion with someone, I guarantee she then went and followed up with that same person in an email, saying, “Just following up on our conversation regarding blahblahblah, I appreciate yaddayaddayadda…”

In other words, the woman has documentation. Her demanding THEIR documentation proves it. “I need your dates of communication so I can cross reference mine. What? You don’t HAVE documentation?? How very odd!”

House Keen is playing clumsy checkers, while the Sussexes are borderline Grand Masters in chess.

  37. Robin says:

I’d like to know, too. Hasn’t one of them claimed PTSD? These are big accusations, and the wobbly details will blow the lot apart and give us a crucial insight into the machinations of the RF and its staff. The days have gone when your anonymity was taken for granted simply by association with royality – well, at least they are starting to go. This is what happens when you get into bed with the tabloid press.

  38. BnlurNforever says:

In the novel Pride and Prejudice we often root for Elizabeth Bennet letting Darcy have it when he revealed his true feelings about her family being the biggest obstacle to his pursuing her. Of course he was rude, arrogant and self focused in his proposal and she absolutely was right to reject him. Having said that, Darcy was right in his feelings that he considered Elizabeth’s family a major obstacle to pursuing her for marriage. He may not have said it prettily, but I’ve always agreed with his feelings about them.

Which brings me to Meghan and Harry and how much of an albatross his family must be for her. Her paternal side is awful to be sure, but they’re almost amateurs in comparison to the Windsors and what now seems like a lifetime of unhinged attacks to look forward to. She and their children will never have the peace everyone deserves because of that truly awful bunch of inbreds she married into. Harry like Elizabeth Bennet is great, but are they truly worth the lifetime of misery their families will cause?

    • sunny says:

Truth. Everything Darcy complained about was 100% accurate. And it was only with that dose of truth Lizzy began to acknowledge her family’s shortcomings, in particular, her father’s. Anyway, I love that fun analogy.

But back to a real life situation, I am sure Harry was aware of how trash his family is but I’m not sure he really got the full extent of how they treated his mother until Meghan and he certainly had no understanding of racism and how it makes people wild out until his relationship with Meghan.

  39. Elizabeth Kerri Mahon says:

All these allegations about bullying are coming from KP, but not a single employee who worked for them when their office moved to Buckingham Palace has spoken out, am I right? That’s rather telling no? I wonder what the difference is.

  40. Jaded says:

Lacey can’t even write correctly let alone get the facts straight. “…disputing all allegations labelled against her…”. Ummm…it’s “leveled against her” stupid.

There’s a special place in hell for Jason Knauf, who masterminded all this bullying. That’s why certain people (coughwilliamcough) have asked that the investigation be postponed until 2022 because Jason will be gone by then. I worked in HR for many years and the first thing you do when you receive a complaint of bullying is get statements, receipts, transcripts, emails, voicemails, etc. etc. and have your legal people go over it all with a fine tooth comb. These things have to be resolved quickly, not dragged out over a few years. Meghan’s doing the right thing and once again KP is looking like a bunch of school children.

  41. Jay says:

It says so much about the palace that they really seem to have thought Meghan would just meekly accept whatever “report” they came up with and crawl off into a corner to hide.

This speaks to, I think, their own arrogance in trying to pass off a load of hearsay as complaints years afterwards, but also a colossal misread of Meghan. She’s been working for actual, professional organizations (with real HR departments) for most of her life. She’s a woman, and a POC, working in an increasingly hostile environment. F#@$ing of COURSE she kept records and receipts! I hope we get to see them.

    • L4frimaire says:

I think the minute that “Straight out of Compton “ article came out, while she had her own management team, her people told her to document everything, every email, text, clip for posterity and to watch her back.

    • Saucy&Sassy says:

Jay, I wonder if they did all of this as 1) to make her leave (after divorcing?) and 2) using the bullying story along with all of the others to smear her for the divorce. They were getting their ducks in a row ala Diana. They must have been gleeful to finally be able to push the bullying story. What a bunch of incompetent fools that they didn’t get some legal advice before pursuing this. They also made a huge mistake by going all out before the Oprah interview. They learned nothing by going all out before Omid’s book came out. They tell on themselves constantly. I wonder if Harry knew this would happen? Maybe he’s been counting on them doing themselves in with very little coming from him? It’s like H primes the pump!

  42. TeamMeg says:

Absolutely gorgeous selection of Meghan pics for this post—thank you, Kaiser!

  43. Reece says:

They really don’t see how this “bullying” is going to blow up in their faces. Expectation of competence and to do the bare minimum is not bullying. smh

  44. Digital Unicorn says:

The problems within KP have been reported on for years – the stories of the office relationships gone wrong, high turn staff over etc.. All that screams of a toxic work environment. Plus its also been well reported that W&K are not easy to work for, not to mention the interference of Carol(e).

Environments like that allows toxic people to rise to the top and it seems that most of the toxic drama came from Knauf and this Melissa PA. If jr staff were being rude to Meghan’s face then they learned that was ok from senior people.

Lazy principles had lazy staff who didn’t like having to do their job. I’d like to know what the people who worked for them when they moved to BP have to say about these claims as reports basically said that there were all sad over Sussexit – didn’t a couple of them start working for the Sussex’s again?

  45. letitbe says:

Am I the only one on here who thinks this whole story is all a crock of bull sh*&%? Just like Robert Lacey’s book it seems to have taken a few facts and fanfictioned them into his crazy story. Sure crap has happened, but most likely less compelling and gossip sales worthy than his narrative. Plus, there is no way Meghan is asking for a “tit for tat” on these charges. For one main reason, it’s dumb and not the way you defend yourself against these type of charges. Being objective, anyone who goes “tit for tat” like stated would rightly be accused of attacking the victim. If Meghan wasn’t the accused “bully” and it was an unknown person, everyone would be screaming the victims are scared and the one’s without the power. They need privacy protection to tell the truth, etc. Meghan is smart and knows this; she’s not doing this. My guess is since nothing “official” is out, and the Sussexes are officially out of the “Firm” the Sussexes aren’t doing anything but stating Meghan treated the staff well and we do have some evidence to prove this. This story is what you get from that truth. As much fun as it seems people on here think, I doubt she’s giving a play by play of how she’s going to do this, plus it makes impartial people take pause at the tactics too. If anything official comes out of it, then we will see, but I’d be surprised if it ended up like that.

    • Carmen-JamRock says:

LOL You seem not to understand that these bogus bullying allegations were said to have occurred in 2018/2019 and which were supposedly documented. All that M is asking for is: PRODUCE THE EVIDENCE. In other words, go to your files and pull up these so-called complaints that HR supposedly has.

It is not M’s concern that BP has decided to conduct an investigation into its own HR policies and procedures or lack of same. Theyre being asked to SUBSTANTIATE CLAIMS THAT WERE MADE ON A GLOBAL SCALE, via collusion with its minions in the tabloid media.
      “He who alleges, must prove.”

      Tick tock.

      • Agreatreckoning says:

Right! KP/Knaupf went all out in February 2021 with the “bullying” allegations that supposedly happened 2018/2019. June 2019 is when the Royal Foundation split happened. H & M moved to Frogmore cottage April 2019. KP’s record keeping must really suck if they need more time. Not. This delay is just to maybe make things go away or buy time to fabricate documents or bribe people to go on record. Interesting article in Vanity Fair a couple of weeks ago. It goes over the recent revelations from The Guardian. One quote (there are a number of good ones) is: “But as Meghan’s time in the family proves, the values of tradition and inclusion are bound to come into conflict in a multiracial society. By attacking her character and downplaying revelations like the racist hiring policy, some palace aides seem committed to denying such a conflict exists at all.”. The article does discuss the roles of the grey men somewhat and the “palace sources” being nameless. Obviously, not written by Katie Nicholls.

I’m with Meghan on a point to point breakdown. Calm, centered, professional Meghan & Harry vs. Jealousy & Incandescent Rage & Racism.

  46. Carmen-JamRock says:

I definitely do not believe this matter will go to court.

First of all, I doubt it is legally possible for anyone in the UK to take the monarch or her/his agents (meaning EVERYONE who works for the monarch – down to the scullery maid and stable boy) to court. Moreover, betty and her ancestors fixed things so that the monarch doesnt have to obey any laws in the uk that they feel would restrict them from doing and being as capricious as they think they have a divine right to be (eg: anti-discriminatory/anti-racist laws).

So i highly doubt that Schillings anticipate filing charges against anyone who lied about M bullying them. It is libel, but as i said, taking the monarchy to court seems like a nonstarter.

However, the claims were publicly and globally made, resulting in an undeniable harm to M’s reputation on a global scale.

So heres what I believe Schillings will do.: after giving BP more than enough time that a court would reasonably allow for them to produce the evidence of their bullying allegations, and after they FAIL SPECTACULARLY to do so, as we all anticipate they will, Schillings will issue a lengthy, VERY PUBLIC and GLOBALLY DISTRIBUTED STATEMENT that not only rubbishes the allegations but show how the Institution, led by its principals (including EY & WillieLeaks) empowered their minions to disrespect and publicly and systematically villify M in a calculated smear campaign in collusion with the tabloid media and shamefully neglect her mental health needs when she repeatedly asked for their assistance to seek in-patient care.

So the only question remaining is, what is the length of time that a court in the real world would consider to be a reasonable enough time for BP to respond to requests for evidence.

    • L4frimaire says:

They already had their conclusion and are looking for evidence to back it up, instead of the other way around. In most corporate settings, this type of thing usually go through arbitration and are settled out of court. Unless there is truly egregious gross misconduct, there is no reason for this to go to court and KP knows this. The purpose of this has nothing to do with “ dignity at work” as they said, but to settle a score and create a media narrative.

    • Nina says:

She may not be able to sue the queen but remember PWT is not the monarch yet and his minions cannot claim immunity simply because they worked for them.
So there are a lot of things that can come from this yet. I think that Meghan and her attorneys did not come to play and KP knows that. That is why the report was pulled back.
All those crappy stories that were in the news these last few days were done because they assumed that they will release the report and that would be the end. Except for Meghan and her attorneys said not so fast.
People are going to start ducking as they did in the DM case.

    • Lizzie says:

The monarch didn’t make bullying claims. As far as we know no employee made bullying claims. Only Jason K wrote an email saying employees had been bullied by Meghan and making malicious claims about her. So if her lawyers retaliate it will probably be against the writer of the defamatory email.

  47. adri3nne says:

I wish they would put this much energy into investigating Andrew

  48. Isabella says:

It abusive to stretch out an “investigation” this long and to now let the target see the complaints. It comes across as a threat. Good for Meghan for sticking up for herself.

  49. L4frimaire says:

I think we forget that Meghan worked with KP fairly briefly so thanks for reminding us it was for about a year. That was when the Me-Gain story came out in Tatler and that article had a nasty gleeful tone about how the staff disrespected her. However,I don’t remember the article mentioning bullying, just diva, demanding, Hollywood etc. I remember in the Oprah interview that Meghan mentioned that her previous marriage and acting career were constantly brought up, she basically said she was constantly reminded of it ( I assume in a derogatory way). When she launched the Together cookbook, was that with the KP staff or she use outside help? It seemed this strife came about after the Oceania tour for sure. Also, when she launched the Smartworks collection and the Vogue cover, the Sussexes were already independent and had their own staff, and seemed to be able to work quite well. That was when a lot of the leaks stopped. Also when they left, it seemed that their staff from Windsor got on well with them and their last meetings were very emotional and supportive. At this point, the attorneys are involved, and the royals will have to do this properly with due diligence. I’ve been in difficult work situations, and sometimes, while it is not always pleasant being reprimanded by a boss, it is not always bullying. I’ve been undermined and disrespected by colleagues and have had disagreements that have involved HR, but also had day to day work issues that I would not consider bullying, even if it’s lousy. The fact that the palaces don’t follow or are not required to follow current employment discrimination laws regarding race and sex is a huge red flag. There is no nuance in these allegations so while everyone involved definitely deserves their say, and it needs to be documented, something here is definitely not passing the smell test. The fact that they were going to print a report without anyone interviewing Meghan shows this was going to be a hit job before her lawyers got involved. The usual process of confidentiality and due diligence should be adhered to.

  50. Freddy says:

Maybe I’ve watched too much of “The Crown” and have read too much about the British monarchy from Edward II to the current monarch, but isn’t being “bullied” part of what working for a royal is expected? JUST KIDDING! I truly find it hard to believe that Meghan was the first ever “bully” in the Palace……

  51. Amelia says:

Speaking of a bully, has anyone seen the drama unfolding around Camilla Tominey on Twitter? I really do hope they do an investigation and it turns out that the threat was fake because so far that’s what it looks like

    • Marivic says:

This woman CTominey is a palace propagandist. An ass-kisser for William, Kate, Andrew, and Carole. She’s a big true blue liar. Good for her she was caught lying. She thought she’d get away with it? Not this time. Twitter people dragged, hauled, and yanked her for the liar that she is. She more than deserves it for faking and staging her own death threat. She’s like Jussie Smollett who staged a fake hate crime assault.

    • Feeshalori says:

She faked a death threat? What’s going on, do tell!!

  52. Margaret says:

My thoughts exactly, I think the same racist are playing a game, remember pig moron saying the same thing. No this article rings false for sympathy. That is my take.

  54. Shannon Brown says:

She should…if they are going to defame they had better come with specifics. Anything else will just be seen as racisms and Anti-Americanism.

  55. Nivz says:

Saw an interesting Twitter incident just now. A kate mid fan account that calls herself Jenn weighed in on the bullying claims. She claimed she was a waitress in a Toronto restaurant when M lived there for suits, and that she was rude, cruel and a bad tipper. It went back and forth.

Then, a journalist named Kristen Meinzer started to probe, contacted the restaurants in (FYI they said M was wonderful) and asked Jenn to provide more details. Wouldntcha know, Jenn deleted her tweets and then her whole account.” .

Then there’s the issue of Camilla Tominey sharing a vague death threat someone sent to her personal website. Appears she refused to contact the police but used it to smear the Sussex squad online (no reference to squad in the threat itself, but she went there). There is some doubt about the provenance of the death threat.

My point is this. The reason royalists, RRs and the Firm themselves accused Meghan of making things up after Oprah, is because … they themselves make things up. In the case of the Firm, it’s this bullying story.

    • Agreatreckoning says:

Wow about Camilla Tominey. Most logical people would first go to the police with a death threat vague or not. If she put it on social media and didn’t contact the police, her motives for acting in such a manner are very questionable. Of course the RRs and the Firm are making things up. The TRUTH has them scurrying around trying to cover their a$$es. They don’t care about right and wrong. Appearance is more important.

  56. Kim says:

From personal experience, I see Charles as the broken bird here. It starts with him…Harry and the future queen’s husband (did someone really print that??) would not be in the place they are in if their father cared about his boys having a solid relationship.

I saw an interview years ago when Harry was beginning his initiatives in Africa. I was put off by William. He was way off brand and Harry was humble. I found his attitude toward Harry to be immature. What I see now is that the squeaky wheel gets the grease. People tip toe around William because he is such a miserable whiner who wields a certain amount of power and is a miserable bloke. Charles is most likely the same way. Courtiers are there to bow down, not push back. Take your pick, but this could be a hillbilly family or a mobbed up gang with an over privileged boss-in-waiting and a checked out elder/capo. Without any emotional maturity and/or true intellectual refinement, combined with complicity in the press, the insularity of the palaces appear to have nothing better to talk about than the newcomer.

Where are the family values? Why are they not protecting the wife of the creator of the Invictus Games? Why is the press reporting on such weird stuff? Why does the entire UK press even care that a member of the RF married an American and moved it o CA? Who cares? I thought we were going for a streamlined monarchy. Harry and Megan are living those values.

Again, from personal experience, a favored son leaving the nest agitates certain people. Independent success is threatening. People who create their own “FU” power are unsettling. And the insecure (though powerful) just cannot let it go because their parents were/are too emotional, too distant, and too toxic to teach a lesson of more evolved behavior.

  57. macko says:

Meghan learned diplomatic behavior and how to behave in a professional environment that is not the Hollywood stage. Right out of College she was an Assistant Charge de Affaire to the
American Consulate in Argentina. This was NOT an internship of a few months, but of several years of in a professional work environment. Not only the she carry off her duties professionally with elan, she became perfectly fluent in Spanish. In other words, this was not her ‘first time to the rodeo’. Then she goes goes traveling around the world after this and then back to Hollywood, where she garnered a reputation for her collegiality, team workmanship, being considerate of both Cast and crew in all her professional acting jobs. Her classmates, teachers, both in All girls Catholic School and at Northwestern University, have nothing but wonderful things to say about her. Suddenly she goes to Kensington Palace and even before she is married to Harry, we’re to believe that Meghan morphed into Lady Macbeth. I don’t believe on single minute of this bullying crap.
Any actor, who can survive the snakepit that is Hollywood, and have colleagues and crew sing your praises, on multiple jobs, then KP,BP will have to try something else. As Bette Davis, said in the movie ‘All About Eve”….’it won’t play’.

    • Robin says:

That’s really interesting and actually helpful. It’s not that I believed any of the bollocks, but it’s nice to have my instincts supported by background detail like this. Thank you, macko.

  58. Likeyoucare says:

BM and BRF thought that meghan will not win in court. She won.

Why do these unqualified and stupid BRF and staffs think they will scot-free from their false claim?
Are these people think they are above others. Wait.. they do.

Welcome to the real world willie. You are not the king of the world and your country is getting smaller too.

  59. Lizzie says:

Meghans lawyers ‘put up or shut up’. KP, ummm we have an email from Jason but no actual reports from employees. I hope US media follows up on this nonsense.

  60. Curious says:

are they seriously thinking they will do their own investigation about Meghan bullying staff and come out with Meghan is innocent? for yrs the royal family allowed Meghan to be bullied in public and private and did nothing. thank god Meghan send her lawyers inn. no way this would have been fair. her lawyers should be there ,or question them on their own. Meghan want all those files that she was a bully and who reported it and when. Meghan herself have timestamp of all she send /received in text and emails and the date it was sent. all the evidence i see written is Meghan staff bullying her by calling her negative names. and if William friend,or friends are telling the press or any writers by name what William told them, ,then William is in trouble too for bullying Meghan by telling lies, the royals can’t falsified documents cause they don’t know what Meghan have on her phone. since these people lie so much ,they won’t be able to remember all their lies.

  61. Leah says:

They just want to frame her as “the angry black woman, yank, who bullied everyone”. No wonder why they moved away because the press bullies her and Harry to no end.
