About KOTA/KEVN Rapid City: KOTA and KEVN are the ABC and FOX affiliates located in Rapid City SD at the base of the beautiful Black Hills. Celebrating decades of service and as a local news leader, KOTA & KEVN is currently in the process of re-modeling and expanding our facilities to bring state of the art technology to the Black Hills region. This project will be completed in early fall of 2017 and will feature new sets, all new furniture, state-of- the-art technology in a 20,000 sq. ft. facility. KOTA and KEVN feature separate brands with separate on-air talent dedicated to local news. KOTA & KEVN are dedicated to informing the public, utilizing television, social media and the area’s only local live-streaming newscast. Our team produces six (6) daily news casts M-F and six (6) newscasts each weekend. KOTA & KEVN are located in the Rapid City, SD television DMA Market 172, a community of approximately 100,000 HH. To learn more about KOTA & KEVN visit: http://www.kotatv.com/content/news/?article=402527586&disable=ads Job Summary: • Research, gather and provide news and information in the most accurate, appealing, timely and creative way using all sources • Enterprise hard news, research-driven packages under tight deadlines • Develop and maintain sources of information and knowledge about assignments • Write and produce stories for daily newscasts and website • Post and regularly update stories and other material on the web, often remotely while traveling • Make regular beat checks • Conduct interviews in the field and on-set • Report “live” on the scene using backpack live technology with training • Update social media sites daily, including Facebook and Twitter, to report stories and interact with viewers • Participate in story selection process through meetings; contribute story ideas daily • Represent the station at public events • Develop a broad and working knowledge of the viewing area, including people, places, things, and history • Demonstrate sound news judgment; collaborate with others to present the story in the best way • Communicate professionally with the web staff and other appropriate staff members during breaking news • Follow clothing and appearance guidelines • Work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed • Anchor and produce newscasts with proper future training • Perform other incidental and related duties as assigned

Requirements:
