Desperate Measures

After earning an Oscar nomination for her indie film, Sloane Ardent has become the Cinderella story of the awards season. All she needs now is a beautiful gown to make her belle of the ball. When the hottest designer in town offers to create the perfect dress for her, she jumps at the chance to work with him. But Julian has a dark side, and after weeks of dealing with his antics, she makes a split-second decision that could ruin everything.

Detective Matthew Weggman has a solid reputation within the Los Angeles PD for being hard-nosed and in control. But when he discovers Sloane in a compromising situation, instead of arresting her, he takes a different route—one outside his strict, black and white lines. Although their worlds couldn’t be further apart, the attraction between them is undeniable. Now that he’s had a taste of her, he doesn’t want to let her go.

After all, possession is nine-tenths of the law.

Author Note: This book is filled to the brim with sexy scenes featuring a protective alpha male that gets what he wants. If you're looking for hot and dirty, this is it!

descriptionThis is a great cover. A fairly good representation of the story. Good composition. Although I would have made the authors name smaller and moved it up to just below the tagline. The typography is interesting, and the yellow against the blue background of the cover really makes it POP.description

descriptionYou know what? I really enjoyed this one. Yes, it was a bit on the cheesy side. Yes, it was "insta-love" on steroids. But it was decently written. It had a pretty good plot. It had a nice pace to it. It basically had no angst. No real OW/OM drama. The sex scenes were hot (the dialogue a little cheesy in parts). The characters were likable. I would have liked to have seen an epilogue added, but overall this was a really enjoyable read and I look forward to seeing more from this author.description

I love newbie authors, and you, Ms. Moretti, are no exception. I really liked both books, and my goal is to get more people to discover you.

Insta-love works for me if it's done right, and in this book, it is. Steamy scenes intermingle with a pretty good story about a cop and a paparazzi-followed actress and how they are thrown together in an awful situation. Romance ignites.

In her first book, this author proved that she could light up a sex scene. Although this book is a bit tamer, it's still smokin' hot.

I hope she draws a larger following soon. I am really excited to watch her grow.

Every once in a while I need a smutty read. Something completely over-the-top with likable characters. This one did the job, and also managed to include a little suspense. I really don't get the one and two star reviews. The author posted a warning in the blurb. She pretty much laid out what type of book this was. Regardless, I enjoyed this novella.

Desperate Measures by Sasha Jayne Moretti is the first book in the Men in Uniform series and the first book that I have read from the author. I always enjoy stories that contain a hot domineering police detective and boy did I enjoy Matthew! Phew!

Detective Matthew Weggman is following up on a lead when he sees a woman entering a building and decides to check it out. He discovers a beautiful red head, Sloane Ardent, who seems to be making a mess in someone else’s office. Sloane tries to use the ‘I’m a famous actress card’, but unfortunately it doesn’t work. The detective begins to arrest her, but realizes something else is going on here. Will the detective be able to help Sloane?

Desperate Measures is a fun steamy read which contained a fast paced ‘lust at first sight romance’ and was chock full of naughty sexy sex scenes.

A fun read!

Wow! Another sexy read from Sasha. This time, it's a sexy, alpha detective and an up-and-coming actress. I really fell in love with this one early on during a very hot scene in an interrogation room. All I can say is that you need to read this one alone and under the covers. Highly recommend for anyone that loves fun, melt your panties reads.

Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book and the comments herein are mine and mine alone.

I'm jumping in with both feet here. I did not like this book.

I'm all for sexy books, hell, I'm quite happy reading full blown porn but this book?? The amount of sex in this book spoilt it rotten.

It's almost every page, some sort of sexual contact. The dialogue used by both characters I found shocking, they could put a 80's porn movie to shame.

There was so much more to be made of the Julian story and it fell well short, even for such a short book.

I promised myself that I would give a book 3 stars if I finished it. I can't do that here.

It gets two stars because, while the dialogue is bad, I didn't spot a single spelling mistake.

This is the first I've read of Moretti. It will probably be the last.

Really? I just can't get that time back.

First there were the typos and grammatical errors. Those can be fixed. I kept reading. Then there was a plot that consisted of sex interspersed with a story. I forged onward. But finally, at 61% I couldn't take it any longer with the line: " If my dick could shed tears, he'd be balling right now". Now I just can't get that time back, which is even more disappointing than this tripe.
