Episode 1: Allie Alvis on Bindings, Tattoos, and Cute Little Guys
Allie Alvis with the Hunterian Psalter in the University of Glasgow Special Collections Reading Room
In Episode 1 of Inside My Favorite Manuscript, Lindsey and Dot talk to Allie Alvis, cataloger and bookseller, as she shares with us two manuscripts she loves from the Hunterian Collection at the University of Glasgow: The Hunterian Psalter (MS Hunter 229), a gorgeous and exquisitely illustrated 12th century psalter, and John Lydgate’s Life of Our Lady (MS Hunter 232), a 15th century collection of religious poetry, notable because it’s been drawn upon by children.
