The Art, Science, and Craft of Beekeeping: January 21–24, 2015
Over four days, the Harvard Undergraduate Beekeepers will run an intensive and immersive program about the world and practice of urban beekeeping. The program will include a honey tasting tour at Follow the Honey featuring honey from our own hives; a full beeswax-working workshop with local beekeeping legend Greg Morrow, in which we will make homemade candles and chapstick; visits to the Harvard Museum of Natural History and a special intro to our own observation hive; a bee- and beekeeping-related film screening; a visit to the Quad Art Space to build planters for our new green-roof bee garden and to paint new hives; and delicious bee-inspired feasts from Cuisine en Locale and The Holistic. Participants in the program will gain bona fide beekeeping experience and develop a lifelong affinity for a fascinating organism fundamental to the survival of our food systems.
