RSVP to  "Preserving Chinatowns in Philadelphia and Beyond"
Tuesday April 2, 2024
12:00pm

For over a century, the historic downtown Chinatowns of North America have been targeted for removal and redevelopment by large public and private projects. Today, Philadelphia's Chinatown faces an existential threat from a basketball arena proposed by 76DevCorp. Please join us for this discussion with members of the Save Chinatown Coalition and preservation advocates. We will explore what it means to preserve Chinatowns and how the historic preservation field can help them survive and thrive in Philadelphia and other American cities.

Speakers:
Kecia Fong (moderator), Lecturer in Historic Preservation
Domenic Vitiello, Associate Professor of City Planning and Urban Studies
Deborah Wei, Co-founder, Asian Americans United
Aaron Wunsch, Associate Professor of Historic Preservation
