We need YOUR help to divest the East Sussex Pension Fund from fossil fuels.
Like us, you're probably angry – if not surprised – at the outcome of last year's UN Climate Conference (COP26). Yet as Bill McKibben notes, the best way to understand these event is to 'view them as scoreboards', reflecting 'the strength of civil society relative to the power of the fossil fuel industry and its friends in the financial community.'
By refusing to divest from fossil fuels, institutions like East Sussex County Council (ESCC) and the East Sussex Pension Fund bear a significant measure of responsibility for the failure of COP26. But that also makes these institutions potentially huge levers for change – if only our movements can press them hard enough.
If you'd like to get involved in local action to help undermine the power of the fossil fuel industries then please fill out the form below.
