Thanks for enquiring about one of our pups. We're sending this questionnaire on to you in order to have all of your info in one place, and to get to know you more and what you're looking for in a puppy.
There is no correct answer to these questions and none are deal breakers, so please ensure you answer as best you can. Please write as much or as little as you feel happy with, but the more we know the better!
Filling this in is no guarantee of a pup; we are just gathering information on our potential homes. I am unlikely to have any updates until Spring 2024, but I will keep your details on file and update as and when. I am not precious about people finding a puppy elsewhere or being on more than one list, but I do ask that, should I put you on my list, you are open with me about your other plans. I honestly don't mind people going elsewhere or deciding one of our pups isn't for them, please just keep me in the loop.
Otter
I am at the early stages of planning a litter with Otter. Otter is extensively health tested as well as being healthy in her day to day life - no allergies or food intolerances, and she's an 'easy keeper'; she eats well and keeps good condition easily. As I work in the small animal rehab industry this is very important to me.
She has an excellent temperament, she's sweet and loving, confident and happy and loves other dogs and people (a bit too much sometimes...). She's happy at the vets, at shows and out at sports or working events. She has good bird finding ability and is a really trainable girl, having some success in the field and at scentwork trials. She is an all round super girl and I am hoping to choose a stud that will compliment her in terms of temperament, type and ability. I'm looking to produce dogs that will enhance family life, can enjoy an active lifestyle and can turn their paw to whatever activities you fancy having a go at but who will also contentedly settle at home.
Puppies will be homed with a contract and with pedigrees endorsed which will be fully explained later on, to ensure they aren't rehomed without our knowledge or bred from irresponsibly. We will also require that no dog is neutered (spayed or castrated) before maturity for the sake of their long term health (I am happy to talk through my reasons if you are unsure). We will include a puppy pack with some guidelines on appropriate exercise, health advice etc. but of course some of you may be very experienced dog owners, so take or leave what you like.
This is a working breed and we expect there to be a variety of characters and levels of drive within the litter. For this reason, like many breeders, we will not be allowing puppies to be chosen. We will eat, sleep and breathe the puppies for 8 weeks and will know their characters inside out, and we strongly believe that the puppy needs to be matched to the most suitable home in order to have the best chance of you ending up with a dog that suits your lifestyle. This will be a decision that you will very much be involved with and we will discuss, but just to state that it will not be possible for you to just choose a puppy. We need to know as much as possible about you and your requirements to make the best job of this.
Every care will go into the rearing of these puppies, and we will be on hand at any time throughout their lives to support you in raising and keeping them at their best.
