Come to the hospital to hear from healthcare professionals and hear what it’s like to work in the NHS
This launch is to promote the innovative partnership between Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Generation Medics, a multi-award-winning social enterprise. The project will support local people in Bradford and Craven to explore, strive towards and succeed in health and care careers locally.
Who can attend?
- This event is open to Bradford and Craven residents only
- Young people (Y10+) aged 14-18 and their accompanying teacher(s)/parent(s)
- Adults looking to enter healthcare (there is a separate signup page for adults, email us to get more info: hello@generationmedics.org.uk)
How will it work?
- Tickets are available to Bradford and Craven residents only. (Subject to space, schools can bring a maximum of 20 students)
- After you've booked we'll be in touch to get more information so we can confirm your places

This is an amazing opportunity for a lot of students who may not otherwise get the chance to engage with something like this. That's exactly why we've committed to making the event entirely free for attendees, but we have limited capacity. Please do not overbook spaces - it prevents others from taking up this opportunity.

How can I get to the venue?
Please use the 'Gate 6' entrance (on the hospital map it is just to the right of the pin that says 'BRI Smith Lane'.
Please note, we are not able to cover the cost of travel or parking to this event.
WALKING/ CYCLING
Please use the 'Gate 6' entrance (on the hospital map it is just to the right of the pin that says 'BRI Smith Lane'.
It’s easy to get to Bradford Royal Infirmary by bike. There are roads and cycle paths around the hospital, and cycle racks and lockable shelters are available throughout the hospital site.
RAIL
Bradford Interchange and Bradford Forster Square train stations connect into InterCity services to London, Manchester and further afield.
BUS
Bus stops can be found opposite the Accident and Emergency Department on Duckworth Lane. Further stops can also be found next to Gates 5 and 7 on Smith Lane.
Buses travel to and from Bradford Interchange in the city centre, which is also well served by National Express.
For times of the next bus, please text the stop number (45022381 for buses going into Bradford, 45022382 for buses travelling towards Allerton) to 63876.
Alternatively, for bus timetable information please call 0113 2457676. The services that stop at the hospital are the 617, 618, 620, 621, 629 and 680.

CAR
Parking/drop-off and pick-up area
Visitors should use the drop-off point and pay-and-display areas provided at the hospital site at Gate 6 off Smith Lane (Sat-nav postcode: BD9 6DA).
Please bring loose change for the ticket machine.
If you are a Blue Badge holder, you may park for free in the disabled or pay-and-display areas if your badge is clearly displayed.

Unfortunately we are unable to provide refreshments/lunch for attendees however there are shops and cafes located on the hospital site (near the main entrance).
Unfortunately we don’t have any funding available to assist with travel costs. If this is a problem for you it’s definitely worth speaking to your form tutor at school/college - they may know of local grant funding you could access.

The Generation Medics Team NHS professionals (from a variety of roles) Other attendees *The event is being held at a busy hospital so there will of course be working professionals, patients and visitors in the area, please be mindful of this on your way to and from the event.
Yes, you can still book a convenient timeslot to attend. You’ll need to book your place through our Eventbrite page for individuals: Under 16's must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, who also needs to register.
All students under the age of 16 will be required to be accompanied by teacher(s)/parent(s)/guardian. We will check for a proof of ID on the conference day.
This event is only appropriate for those listed as eligible above. The youngest people we can host are 14 year olds (who must be accompanied by their parent or guardian, so yes if they’re 14 and over and have registered, but no otherwise.
A pen and notepaper would be useful. Please note we don't have the facility to charge laptops so if you prefer to use an electronic device to make notes, please ensure it's charged. If you’re under 16, we’ll need valid ID of the person who accompanies you (i.e. your parent/guardian)
This event is completely free for eligible attendees. Please ensure you have registered for the conference via Eventbrite.
Please note we have different meetings running through the day, it's important that you attend the session appropriate to your career-stage. Please register for the appropriate time slot when booking your ticket. 10am-12pm is the session for students and young people (14-19 yr olds)
Yes, please note that there will be photography and videos of the event to use for marketing and promotional purposes.
