On Wednesday (28th June 2023), trailing convergence from the recent Tropical Wave will, at times, produce partly cloudy to cloudy periods from early morning, with light to moderate showers in varying areas and a medium to high (40% - 70%) chance for a heavy shower or thunderstorm in some areas. Relatively settled conditions are expected during the afternoon, with the chance for isolated showers in a few areas. There is still a medium (40%) chance for a heavy shower or thunderstorm to develop during the late afternoon, evening and night. Winds would generally be from the Southeast to East. On Thursday (29th June 2023), low level convergence, moist atmosphere and some surface heating can cause some fair conditions to be interrupted at times by partly cloudy periods, with light or moderate showers in a few areas. There is a low to medium (30% - 60%) chance for a heavy shower or thunderstorm to develop during the late morning to afternoon, favoring but not confined to, Western Trinidad or hilly areas. Winds would generally be from the Southeast to East-Southeast. On Friday (30th June 2023), some convergence ahead of an approaching Tropical Wave (whose axis is tilted in an East-Northeast to a West-Southwest orientation), together with the Inter-Tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) influence, is likely to produce some partly cloudy to cloudy periods. There will be a medium (40% - 60%) chance for heavy showers or thunderstorm development, favoring, but not confined to, Southern and Western Trinidad. Winds would generally be from the Southeast to East-Southeast. The Met Office notes that at present, there is mostly mild, but at times moderate concentrations of Saharan dust in the atmosphere. This is expected to continue over the coming week. The axis of the nearest Tropical Wave is analyzed to be near 54°W/55°W to the near-East of Trinidad and Tobago. The axis of this Wave is expected to pass Tuesday morning (27th June 2023). The associated weather should begin to affect Trinidad and Tobago from late Monday night or early Tuesday morning. The axis of the next nearest Tropical Wave is analyzed to be near 46°W and is expected to begin to affect Trinidad and Tobago from Friday (30th June 2023).
