The School of Liberal Arts and Sciences provides the foundation for an FIT degree, committed to providing a broad-based general education for FIT students, integrating traditional academic study with career preparation. The Department of Social Sciences seeks to create and nurture an environment of innovative, interdisciplinary learning that enables students to develop diverse and multicultural perspectives so that they will be better prepared to function in a complex and global society. Courses are offered in economics, history, philosophy, political science, psychology, and sociology. Due to this multidisciplinary composition, the Department of Social Sciences is uniquely positioned to offer many, and varied courses designed to increase students' understanding and appreciation of the historical and contemporary diversity of national and global society.
Job Description:
The Department of Social Sciences seeks to fill a full-time tenure-track position in Psychology. The successful candidate must demonstrate a commitment to curricular innovation and program growth; contribute to a coherently articulated program of instruction in Psychology across varying levels of competency; design, prepare, implement, and evaluate syllabi; assist with the development and administration of assessment instruments; participate in professional development programs, and mentor students.
The successful candidate should demonstrate a concrete record of research and publication, excellence in teaching, and a record of engagement in departmental and college service.
An enthusiasm for working with undergraduate non-majors is highly desirable. Candidates who have a strong interest in/or experience with teaching introductory psychology will be given special consideration.

- Design and deliver coursework that integrates knowledge in the context of an art and design school.
- Balance both theory and the practical application of knowledge, to include building skills that are necessary to be successful in a profession.

- Adapt course content to adjust to changing industry, global, and consumer trends while respecting local issues and challenges.
- Design classroom and other learning experiences that foster critical thinking, problem solving, information literacy skills, and creativity.
- Utilize instructional variety to accommodate students of different learning styles, abilities, and demographics.

Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
Candidates should have a doctorate degree (PhD or PsyD) in an area of Basic or Applied Psychology (e.g., Clinical, Counseling, Developmental, Environmental, Industrial, Social).
Additional Information:
This faculty position will begin Fall 2024. Review of applications will commence immediately and continue until the position is filled, or until April 2024. First consideration will be given to completed applications received by September 1, 2023. The salary and appointment rank will be based on education level and cumulative experience.
