PA Town Hall Registration for LSTA on Nov 16 @ 9:30 AM
You are cordially invited to attend a 30-minute session to discuss the benefits of the programs the Pennsylvania Department of Education, Office of Commonwealth Libraries (PDE - OCL) offers using Federal funds received through the Library Services and Technology Act’s 'Grants to States' program.
Every five years PDE - OCL conducts an evaluation of its implementation of the LSTA program in fulfillment of the requirements of the Museums and Libraries Act. The LSTA Grants to States Program is a Federal program that provides funding to each state on a population-driven formula. Federal funding for the program in Pennsylvania is approximately $5.4 million per year. Decisions regarding how available funds are spent are made at the state level; however, expenditures must be consistent with the purposes and priorities that are established nationally.
LSTA currently helps to support a variety of important projects such as Lifelong Learning (includes Out-of-School Time and Family Engagement), Digital Library Services (includes POWER Library), as well as Training and Support. PDE - OCL is working with QualityMetrics, a library consulting firm, to conduct its evaluation. We will be holding this Town Hall to inform the community about the LSTA activities and launch a survey. Please consider attending our half hour information session to be held on Nov 16 @ 9:30 AM by registering here.
Thank you for your participation!
