Behavior Solution Flowchart
PURPOSE: The purpose of this flowchart is to assist staff in selecting strategies to address problem behaviors based on their corresponding function(s).
FUNCTIONS OF BEHAVIOR: The function of all behaviors generally falls in to one (or more) categories. Below is a simple question that categorizes each function and general indicators as to what staff might experience if a behavior is maintained by a certain function. It is always recommended that staff complete a Functional Behavior Assessment to determine the function of problem behavior.
