Behavior Solution Flowchart
PURPOSE:  The purpose of this flowchart is to assist staff in selecting strategies to address problem behaviors based on their corresponding function(s).

FUNCTIONS OF BEHAVIOR: The function of all behaviors generally falls in to one (or more) categories.  Below is a simple question that categorizes each function and general indicators as to what staff might experience if a behavior is maintained by a certain function.  It is always recommended that staff complete a Functional Behavior Assessment to determine the function of problem behavior.
