Proposing priority species for genome sequencing in, and working with the Darwin Tree of Life project
The Darwin Tree of Life project (darwintreeoflife.org) will eventually sequence all described eukaryotic species in Britain and Ireland, but we can only do this in collaboration with the wider biodiversity community. There are two ways in which you can help: working with our biodiversity institution partners in collecting and identifying species, and assistance in prioritising which species should be sequenced first.

* If you would like to offer your expertise as a field collector or as an expert in the taxonomy of a specific group, please indicate in PART A. We will put you in touch with the relevant DToL samples collections teams.

* If there is a species you think we should sequence, please propose it in PART B. A list of species for which samples have already been acquired and the status of sequencing already underway can be explored at https://portal.darwintreeoflife.org/. Please feel free to suggest multiple species - you will have to fill in a form for each species separately. We will collate and consider all responses, but our actual prioritisation will involve multiple factors alongside this community input, so we can not commit to satisfying everyone’s requests.

Thank you for participating.
