Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are from a low income, Title I school. But that doesn't mean they lack the drive and dedication to their learning. In fact these students are the opposite of this. I have never met a more dedicated and passionate bunch. I truly have pride in my students and school and I think that they represent the best there is.
These students truly have a passion for learning and I want to support them however I can.
They are motivated, creative, passionate about social issues and have a love for learning.I want to support them however I can.
My Project
Each year I have about 20 -30 students in my AP funding club that decorate teacher doors and offices for various holidays to raise money to pay for thier AP fees. Some of these students are taking 4 or 5 AP tests at $94 a test. Each year we spend 100s of hours cutting out various letters, pictures and such to decorate the big butcher paper door covers.
By getting a Cricut and paper supplies we can do so much more for fundraising and be more creative with the materials we use.
Not only for my AP funding club, but I am also the advisor for several other clubs and this will help with creating the Club rush signs, teacher appreciation gifts, and also help with creating activities for our Book Buddy project with a local elementary school.
