SDSU 2020 Digital Humanities Showcase Entry Form
SDSU's Digital Humanities Initiative (http://dh.sdsu.edu/) invites students, faculty, and staff to submit proposals for the annual Digital Humanities Showcase -- postponed due to COVID-19, future date TBD.

"Digital Humanities" describes efforts to study digital technologies and culture, employ computational practices in research and teaching, and reflect upon the impact of the digital.

The Digital Humanities Showcase is the celebratory exhibition of digital work at SDSU. The showcase is an informal digital poster session in which participants display and discuss their work, exhibit hybrid analog-digital pieces, and offer project demos. The DH Showcase displays the wide diversity of creative-critical digital work happening across our campus. This interactive, 360 time lapse video of our 2019 DH Showcase gives you an idea of what to expect: https://youtu.be/x8byZuo2Gxw.

WHAT TYPES OF PROJECTS CAN BE SUBMITTED?
Digital Humanities projects related to scholarship and/or pedagogy are welcome, as are creative pieces. Projects may be stand-alone works, components of broader projects, works-in-progress still in draft form, or works created in previous semesters. They may be fully digital, or hybrid digital-analog.

WHAT IS EXPECTED OF PARTICIPANTS?
You do not need to prepare formal remarks --- though a quick elevator pitch never hurts! Just be prepared to show off your hard work and talk about your project. You can share challenges along the way, things you're proud of, what you learned in the process, or anything else that you think would interest others.

CAN I SUBMIT A PROJECT EVEN IF I CAN'T ATTEND THE EVENT?
Yes! DH Center staff will set up your project for you if you can't attend. Please don't let a scheduling conflict keep you from sharing your work.

WHO CAN SUBMIT?
Any SDSU faculty, staff, or student can submit a project (or multiple projects). Faculty can nominate their students' work using this form, or students can submit their own work.

To participate, please complete this form by August 1, 2020 to submit your project(s) for consideration. You may submit as many projects as you like, but please only list one project per form. Acceptances will be sent out by email once we know when we can hold the showcase.

We cannot guarantee that all requests to use a large external monitor or laptop can be accommodated. We strongly encourage participants to use their own devices (laptops, tablets, etc.) and ask that participants bring their own adaptors. We do not have any tablets.
