There will be laughs-a-plenty for children at a show coming to Bingley .

Comedy Club 4 Kids, an exciting new venture for youngsters, is being launched by Sally Edwards and Lynn George, two drama tutors from Kaleidoscope, the youth training section of Bingley Little Theatre.

The pair are keen to encourage new projects for children at Bingley Arts Centre, which has been taken over by the Little Theatre on a 99-year lease from Bradford Council, and want children to experience live stand-up comedy.

“After seeing the hilarious Comedy Club 4 Kids show with my children in London, I wanted all my friends to have the opportunity of seeing it without the expense or trouble of having to travel to London,” says Sally. “Bingley Arts Centre seemed the perfect venue to host this event.”

Adds Lynn: “There has been so much interest, we’re certain it’s going to be a great success.”

Comedy Club 4 Kids began at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2006 and now tours the UK. It is run like an adult comedy show with an MC, an opening act and a headliner, and is stand-up comedy for everyone over the age of six.

Some of the brightest comedians on the UK circuit do what they do best – but without the rude bits!

Lynn and Sally have donated tickets to a hospice and to Canterbury Estate’s Imagination Library, aimed at boosting reading among pre-school children.
