- The ESGF respository (we mostly use the one at LLNL) only contains what has been uploaded from the various institutions to date. IT IS BY NO MEANS COMPLETE. Although most of the Tier 1 (most popular) experiments have some data, only a few have the variables at prescribed frequencies (e.g., monthly, daily, 6hourly, etc) and realms (e.g., atmos, ocean, seaice, etc) which are possible. We cannot add data unless it is actually available at one of the ESGF nodes.

- BIG HINT. When you are checking, first specify the keyword you are most sure of. When you click Search, it narrows your choices and makes the search easier. The left column combined with Search is the best way to find your data.

EXAMPLES: 1. If you know you want land variables, choose Realm/land and then 'Search'
2. If you want daily ocean data, first choose Table ID/Oday and then 'Search'
