Hi, Chris Roast (Claudia's brother in law) and Lucia Lorente-Arnau (a friend of the family) have promoted this fund raiser to help find Claudia.
Claudia Uruchurtu, disappeared on the night of Friday, 26th March 2021 in the town of Nochixtlan, Oaxaca state, Mexico.
That night, Claudia was seen attending a rally outside the local council, where the people of the village gathered to protest the beating of a local labourer, allegedly by security elements linked to the municipal president. Claudia left the rally but never arrived home.
There are some reports from witnesses that they recognised Claudia and that she was grabbed and pushed into a car. The only detail they have been able to provide is that the car was red. No one intervened. We have not been able to confirm this.
Current evidence indicates that Claudia was not detained by official authorities, as she has not been found at the Nochixtlan police station, nor within the local medical services, with family, or with friends.
We have registered Claudia’s disappearance with the “National Registry for missing and non-localised persons”, and have filed a complaint with the Oaxaca’s Human Rights Commission.
We are crowd-funding to pay for legal expenses to help find Claudia, and bring those who took her to justice. We don't know yet how much money will be needed, but any money left over will be donated to Mexican Human Rights Charities.
