Hackathons usually have a specific focus, such as developing new technology or solving a particular problem. Participants in a hackathon typically work in teams to create something new, such as a new piece of software or a new product. And of course there are prizes for the best ideas and projects.
Hackathons are a great way to meet new people and learn new skills. They're also a lot of fun! You get to work on cool projects with other people who are passionate about the same things as you. Here are some additional information and resources to help you get started.

- Get a team together: One of the best parts of hackathons is working with a team of people to build something cool. If you don't have a team already, don't worry! Hackathons are a great place to meet new people and form collaborative relationships. When you're putting together your team, it's important to have a mix of skills and experience levels. You'll want people who are good at coding, designing among other tasks.
- Choose a project: Continuum is hosting 4 hackathons which gives you a lot of creative space and options to choose from. It's time to start thinking about what you're going to build. You can also look for problems that you're passionate about and see if you can come up with a solution. Participating in all hackathons will give you and your team the best opportunity to succeed and make a mark.
- Don't forget about the basics: When you're planning your project, it's important to keep the basics in mind. This includes things like making sure your project is well-designed, easy to use, and has a clear purpose.
- Don't be afraid to ask for help from mentors: If you get stuck during the hackathon, don't be afraid to ask for help from team members and mentors. Mentors play an important role in hackathons, especially for those who are new to the event. They can help answer questions, give advice, and provide guidance throughout the event.
- Be ready to present your project: At the end of the hackathon, you'll have to present your project to the judges. This is your chance to show off all the hard work you've put into your project, so make sure you're prepared. Practice your presentation, and make sure you're able to clearly explain what your project does and why it's important.
- Have realistic expectations: It's important to have realistic expectations for your first hackathon. Don't expect to win, and don't expect your project to be perfect. Focus on learning and having fun, and you'll be sure to have a great time.
