PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WMBB) – In the parking lot of their darkened station with the devastation behind them, News 13 talent was live for the first time since losing power during Hurricane Michael at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Chris Marchand, Justin Kiefer, Tom Lewis, Amy Hoyt, Ross Whitley and Sam Lucey hosted the hour long broadcast that was streamed live online.

The group talked about their experiences during and after Hurricane Michael, from witnessing parts of their station’s roof ripping off to coming together as a community with their families and neighbors to assess the damage to their own homes.

“The familiarity of Panama City is gone,” said Chris Marchand of the damage to the city.

News 13 will be relaunching the station and getting back on air over the next few days and weeks.

A live online broadcast from WMBB’s sister station WFLA in Tampa will continue throughout the weekend online at mypanhandle.com and the News 13 Facebook page.
